I imagine it might look similar to the Olson fight... a clean points win with a few knockdowns sprinkled in for the similarly cagey and skilled Mike McCallum. McCallum's consistency is the biggest issue here, the reason I have trouble imagining Turpin having much success. McCallum never showed up out of shape and could always be trusted to put in a great performance, the same cannot be said for the best opponent Turpin fought by far, a very well aged and risen in weight Ray Robinson. I think Turpin really benefits from being the right man at the right time in terms of upsetting Robinson.
SRR was on his whirlwind European Tour at the time, and had fought 6 fights in 6 weeks, before fighting RTurpin as his 7th fight.
In agreement there Russ,Mike would put the heat on Turpin and I'm not sure Randy takes it well .Turpin would have rounds of success I imagine but Mike's body work wears him down. I see a tired , fatigued Turpin being dropped in the last couple of round s and Mike getting a unanimous DEC
