"And we have little keyboard warriors on this forum calling boxers "quitters" when in reality you all have no ****ing idea what fighters are really going through." That's the truth - and you know Golota was so strong that he was even winning round two when all he wanted to do was get the hell outa there! I was so looking forward to that fight. I thought it was going to be the fight of the century.
Okay then who have you fought? have you fought anyone better than golota has? Seriously Quitters are people like Alexander who get frustrated because they arent winning. If your in pain and feel like it can do permanent damage than there is no shame in pulling out of a fight. After all its just a boxing match, live to fight another day. Calling a Recognised heavyweight boxer a quitter whilst your probably sitting in an arm chair thinking your tough when your hardest challenge is figuring whether to take on a donut or a cripsy cream man your real tough.
I bet you never fought, Golota couldn't do **** so he quit, you can die in the ring its no playstation game
i understand its ok to quit at times....when there is no chance at winning and its in the 10th round of a 12 round fight and you have lost every round..there is no shame....after 2 rounds of fighting, it leaves giant questions....as well as people that paid a 1000.00 for a ringside seat.... quitting isnt a accross the board black and white issue.... boxers that quit because they simply wanted out of the fight , thinking a tech draw or whatever is better than a TKO or straight up LOSS Alexander vs Bradley Campbell vs Bradley Chavez vs Randall II Leija vs Ward Camacho vs Leija guys that got a beating and just gave all they had and it wasnt enough ortiz vs madeina cotto vs margarito gray area...who knows.... golota vs tyson duran vs leonard II cooper vs foreman
at least he could have went down and never step up just act , because after this fight everybody thinks hes a coward
These same people calling fighters a ***** and bitches and all this other nonsense would cry and **** there pants the first time they were hit to the body. Its all good sitting behind a screen calling Golota a ***** when they know they would never say it to his face.
I too had read a while aback about the seriousness of golota's injuries and therefore didn't hold quitting against him (in fact it takes balls to standup to a corner and walk out knowing everyone's gonna think ur a disgrace imo). that said, tyson wasn't alll that past his prime in this one. yeah he was not the same animal from the mid to late 80's (hardly anyone was ever), but he was like 34, without many real wars, and seemed to be in some of the best form he'd been in post prison - he could obviously bring the pain that night
That might have been a past prime Tyson but that Tyson would still be a champ in todays division. Tyson probably smoked a big fat blunt b4 this fight :yep
I DISAGREE...........ritchie giagetti was tysons 2nd best trainer...he had tyson for tyson/tillman...tyson/stewart....tyson/ruddock 1..tyson/ruddock 2....and tyson/holy 2.....
Remember watching that fight, I was one of those dissapointed in Golota, not just for not fighting on, but for his performance. He just couldn't deal with Tyson's swarming style, Brewster would prove that again. Mike destroyed him. That KD punch he landed was monstrous, I'm not surprised it shifted a few bones
I think Golotas team just made those exuces to save his face He has history of quiting and mental breakdowns. Did he have herniated disk then too?
