Update: Team Sauerland mandates random drug testing for his shows!

German stable Sauerland Event just signed a new TV deal with ARD, and it mandates random drug testing for all boxers fighting on Sauerland events.

    ____________________________________________________________________________

IBF MW champion Sebastian Sylvester has to find a new opponent for his January 30 fight in Germany, because Spanish challenger [FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Pablo Navascues was tested positive for an unnamed illegal substance following a random test.

Ironically, the test was performed on January 13, around the 14 day window Mayweather and Pacquiao couldn't agree on in their own fight. The test results became public by the Austrian Boxing Federation on Thursday, 8 days after the test, both A and B samples were positive. There was no information whether it was a blood or urine test, but you can bet if it was not random or was performed after the fight, Navascues wouldn't have got caught.

RANDOM DRUG TESTING IS IN EFFECT AND WORKING WELL IN EUROPE!

UNITED STATES ATHLETIC COMMISSIONS MUST MAKE RANDOM DRUG TESTING MANDATORY BECAUSE IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO GET FIGHTERS CAUGHT USING!

Doesn't matter. It must be a blood test to be fully effective, urine testing is ineffective for EPO for example, even if it was random, Mosley would've passed a urine test before the De La Hoya fight. Shane wouldn't have passed the blood test. Of course there was neither.

RANDOM BLOOD TESTING IS THE ONLY TRULY EFFECTIVE WAY OF TESTING, AND RANDOM TESTING IS IN USE AND WORKING WELL IN MANY PLACES OF THE WORLD!

dude you just owned your self. you basically said that you coudlnt tell if it was urine or blood testing that caught him. yet part of your conclusion is that random blood testing is needed because it will show substances that urine cant.

This is a perfect example of why random blood testing is needed. I'm glad they're starting this in Europe this will have cheats on the run.

" There was no information whether it was a blood or urine test"

What example? point was random testing...not sure if it was random urine testing or random blood testing. you can say that once they say that it was because of blood testing

The USADA have already said blood tests are needed as urine doesn't pick up everything, if Navascues failed a urine test it won't change that fact.

you dont get it do you. TS is saying that this news proves that random blood testing is needed when he said himself that there was no information whether it was blood or urine that caught that boxer.

I love how *******s think. Throw them some facts and they turn borderline ******ed or ignore the fact completely and instead turn to insults.
