And if so, any ideas where I can find it? If anybody knows for sure, thanks in advance. :!: I've only seen the 15th round and read that it was a virtual shutout, but I'd love to see some more footage of it to judge for myself. On paper, it looks like a masterclass by Nico against a HOF fighter- but I know judges scorecards aren't necessarily the best indicator of how a fight actually played out.
I know for a fact that the whole fight was indeed filmed as it was shown on Argentinian TV, just like my copy of the second Monzon/Briscoe fight that I have which was filmed by local network station and not the silent, hand held camera version everybody else has. So far I have been unable to track down a complete copy, however I am optimistic that at some point I will find the full fight or at the very least some extended highlights of the fight.
I know an Argentinian journalist who has been turning over every stone looking for it, but he's not too hopeful that it still exists. Whilst the fight was shown on Argentinian TV, as were a lot of other Locche fights for that matter, the Argentinian populace didn't have access to any film recording devices at the time, and so it's unlikely that anyone in the general public recorded it. Having contacted the TV station that showed the fight, the only thing they had preserved is the last round of the fight. Unfortunately, that might be the only fragment we'll ever have of it.
From the clips I have seen, Loche was an amazing defensive guy and in the fight with CERVENTES he was the shorter guy, shorter reach but he fought in his range. Nicolino was a lot older than Kid Pambelee
A lot of people forget that Cervantes was a little green in this fight though, having never faced anybody in Locche's league before.
