Hi there, Hoping someone can pass on advice. Im off to see Amir fight this saturday in newcastle. First time ive been to see a live fight. Driving up from bristol so trying to sort out timing...etc. The doors at the metro centre open at 5:30. Any idea what time i should aim to get there for the fight. Not sure if they make you get there earlier so you can watch other fights before the main event!? Dont wanna get there to early and obviously dont want to get there too late. Any help must appreciated. Gino
id normally get there for when the doors open. its a long way to go if som1 gets knocked out out in the first round so watching the undercard u get ur moneys worth and theres some crackin fights on there. i went to hatton pacquiao, haye enzo, and khan prescott so getting there early dont feel like ur wasted ur money if ya get my drift
I personally always get there to see every fight on the undercard. Sometimes you don't see anything special but once in a while you catch a glimpse of a future champ, or see a mini classic.
Go watch all the fights and make it a great night of boxing for yourself. Nothing beats watching the fights live no matter who is involved.
My thought is always: "I've paid x amount for this ticket, I might as well go and watch all that I've paid for." Plus theres always something really odd about being in a big arena like the MEN or O2 watching the fights after the main event when everybody has gone home, the journalists and camera crew are packing up and there's only a couple of dozen hardcore fans still left. A good example was the show in stoke the other week. I went and watched it from the start, and the first fight as Cello Renda v Paul Samuels. I'd have been pissed if I'd have come in late and missed those three unbelievable rounds-AND a double knockdown.
If you go early you might as well sit front row, that's what my cousins did at Barrera fight. I wasn't too far behind. Until the people start coming then I suggest you go back to your original seats.
