Wow, what a fight last night! Well for two rounds anyways :). I have a question for my fellow boxing fanatics. Is it just me, or is this whole "retirement" thing getting out of hand? I mean can't a guy lose a fight without having to "hang em' up?" Ricky has two brutal KO losses, both to P4P fighters. That is nothing to be ashamed of. Tell me two guys in that weight range that wouldn't get demolished by "Money" and the Filipino Bruce Lee of boxing. Would they all need to immediately consider retirement too? All I'm saying is if a man wants to stop fighting for whatever reason he decides, so be it. We as fans and the media need to quit screaming "retirement" every time a guy has a bad run. Now if Hatton comes back and loses to say a "Lazcano" level guy, then I feel retirement should be looked at closely; until then let's all calm down and show respect to the Pacman's accomplishment.

The PBF-Marquez fight just got a little more interesting in my eyes. At first I was skeptical of this match-up, but now my curiosity has piqued. Since Manny just whipped Hatton the next logical match supposedly is PBF (pending a victory over Marquez). Considering Marquez fought Manny on even terms, perhaps even besting him, this fight should be a decent indicator as to how Manny would fare against Mayweather Jr. Everyone, myself included, seems to be assuming that Marquez will lose handily to Floyd due to the size differential. If that is the case, then wouldn't Pacman too be a tad bit undersized? If Pacman is considered to be at least capable of dethroning Floyd of official P4P status, Marquez should be afforded the same chances. Anyone beg to differ?

Lastly, last nights undercard was somewhat of disappointment. I mean two 4-rounders and an 8-rounder? This is getting ridiculous. GBP's has got to give the fans better fight cards for $45 plus. I want to see Lara and Matty on ESPN, not HBO PPV!!!

    Have a good one...

It's not because he lost, but rather HOW he lost. What a brutal KO does to a person is usually underrated. Most boxers will never taste the kind of KO Hatton took last night.

If he would have lost on TKO or on points, he could have carried on fighting, but punches like that take out a lot from a fighter.

I dont think Marquez has as much chance as Manny at beating Floyd. I think Manny will prove to be better at moving up weight divisions.

I think Pac's style would cause more problems to Floyd than Marquez's will

Floyd will run all night to a UD in my opinion (against Marquez)

    Floyd vs Pac is 50-50

I think Hatton should have a few more fights, not go out on such a low.
I think he can still do it and should to shut up all this "he was never any good" nonsense. He was the best in his division until the best fighter on the planet decided 2 join.

I also definitely feel Hatton should have his final fight in the UK against Junior Witter.

    I would cream my pants
