Its a bitter pill to swallow when your man gets beat...Its just going to take a little time to get over this. I knew it would be tough and that there were many questions that needed answering in this fight, that because of the style strengths and weaknesses of each man, this would truly be Cottos first real test. Congratulations to Margarito he took care of buisness. Cotto did not quit he was beaten plain and simple, he took on a dangerous opponent and was beaten. I wish other fighters would extend themselves in this manner, challenges are what its all about. Plenty of idiots are now badmouthing Cotto and talking trash, its very easy to do after the fact but the informed fan knew the outcome of the fight was a difficult to predict period. To now gloat is reprehensible, in the aftermath of the fight here are my thoughts: 1-He needs to un**** the corner and trainer situation. He needs to have the very best. 2-He needs to work damn hard on his stamina 3- Cotto needed to keep his back off the ropes for the full 12. 4-Cotto needed to box yes, but he also needed to put pressure on Margo occasionaly to keep Margo off of him. a 60/40 split between boxing Margo and attacking him is about right. 5- Margo fights one way coming foward throwing shots 6- Margo has a great chin, he is slow but tough and strong. 7-Mayweather and DLH can beat Margo via decision easy. 8. Where was the body attack to slow Margo down a bit in later rounds 9- What on earth were they telling Cotto in the corner? In Conclusion Cotto lost because he ran out of gas, poor stamina. He ran from Margo a little too much. In the exchanges when Cottos went at Margo he was out punching him then suddenly Cotto would back off and start retreating. Where was the jab, and body punching? Tactically Cotto fought an incomplete fight, why not use your best style and come foward throwing shots then moving and boxing to dictate the pace. Why was he ever on the ropes? Margo backing away or halted in progress is not as effective as Margo on the chase building momentum. I Conratulate Margarito he was the better fighter I hope he gets his due and payday vs DLH I congratulate both men for taking this fight. I was very worried before this fight but after 6 rds I was sure Cotto would win....I was enjoying the hell out of the fight then came the 7th and onward and incredibly before my eyes it all came down. I was in shock for a while, I feel the game plan, corner and the lack of Stamina blew the fight. Cotto had all the pieces of the puzzle in his arsenal to win last night but the precise and thoughtful execution of that plan went to hell as things got hard. I wonder what advice and guidance he was getting from the corner, sadly Cotto may never get another chance, not like the one he had lastnight.
