Randy Michaels Caballero is a 5'6 25 year old Super Bantamweight with a 23-0 14 KO's record. He was born in Indio, California, USA and fights out of Coachella. Randy contrary to popular belief is of Nicaraguan descent and not Mexican, is a 9 time Champion with a 167-10 record as an amateur. He decided to forego the 2012 Olympics after missing out on the 2008 Games because of his young age, and turned pro at the age of 19. He was signed by Oscar De la Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions and has been moved along rather slowly, which was probably for the best since he lacked a ton of amateur experience. He's trained by his father Marcos, his nickname may be the matador, which is somewhat applicable but he's definitely not married to that style, because if the notion strikes him he can rumble as well. He passed his first test against the UK's Stuart Hall is a very entertaining fight, but was out for all of 2015 with an ankle injury, he was due to return on the Canelo-Cotto undercard but failed to make weight and lost his title which was gifted to Lee Haskins. He's now moved up and looks healthy at his new weight making easy work of and stopping Ruben Garcia for the first time. Hopefully Randy can stay injury free, and keep his weight in check and become a dominant force that he clearly has the potential to become.
