Helwani is a **** stirring weasel for provoking Seagal about this fight. He would have never known about Couture's offhand remarks otherwise.
Im not saying the master couldnt win a sword fight against Couture. I simply think in hand to hand no rules Randy shatters the masters hip slamming him into the ground and then bangs Kelly LeBrock in the centre of the cage while talking with Rogan.
Steven Seagal is a great fighter. He could of been champion if the UFC around when he was in his prime.
Didn't Seagal teach Machida that crane kick? He has serious fast hands, don't let his relatively advanced age fool you. I think Seagal does better than Toney anyway. :yep
Steven Seagal in his prime destroying everyone in his sight [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOKN_GlXvAs[/ame]
No he couldnt of been, the amount of masters that were awesome fighters that NEVER fought in NO HOLDs barred fights is endless. I am not saying Seagal was or is garbage, not whatsoever, my point is he is a awesome SENSI and TEACHER for the most part BUT that does not make him a AWESOME professional fighter. Being a pro fighter is far different than being a awesome TEACHER. Its about not gassing after 5 minutes, its about waiting on your back surviving until your opponent makes a mistake. Its about SCRAMBLING like a mongoose for a little bit of position when one is off balance and out of position, out of breath and then continuing. Seagal never competed in this type of fighting. In a real fight or pro fight you dont get the chance to RESET if your move doesnt work. The same can be said for K1 fighters, i love K1, regardless, if a guy gets dumped on his arse the fight is RESET, in a REAL fight if a guy gets dumped on his arse chances are he wont let you get back up to try again. The truest NO HOLD BARRED fighting on a large scale the globe witnessed were the REAL street fights that took place in Brasil for decades predating the UFC. These fights did not have OFFICIALs and ORGANIZATIONs. They were for MONEY and honour. As these FIGHTs evolved one thing became apparent that MOST were never expecting. When the best of the best fought each other OFTEN the fights were LONG and won with many things including the critical element of endurance TRAINING. With NO REF many of the top street fighters ended up on the ground for 30 minutes plus turning into battles of WILL and CONDITIONING etc etc. Boring stalemates were often the result for the majority of the fight with two fighters LOCKED in a postion scaping over INCHEs slowly testing each others endurance, will etc until the end. The end coming when one fighter became fatigued to the point that he became the loser. Now the UFC does not have NO HOLDs barred fights like this but it is still the largest competition that has these simalar elements still in place. Yes the rounds are only 5 minutes now, but the point is within those 5 minutes if one gets caught in a bad position they are going to have to survive until at least the bell goes before they get a chance to reset. A better fight to me would be Toney vs Seagal :bbb That would be fun to watch. Or even Bob Sapp vs Seagal
no witnesses, so when randy kicks **** out of him he can deny it just like he denied getting choked out by gene lebell
yeah.. against the old champions, unless he changed his style it wouldn't beat todays jon jones's or anderson silva's
lmao as much as seagal would get destroyed by randy i think you are being a bit harsh on seagal by comparing him to bob sapp lol, i think 5 pints of stella i could give sapp a good go. just kidding but bob sapp is the charlie chaplin of mma
