Couture by 1st or 2nd round TKO strikes, or 4th or 5th round submission. Either way, Lesnar aint lasting all 5 rounds here.

I've been trying to analyze this fight. What happens in the clinch? What happens on the ground?

As some of you might have noticed, I did a rather nice job predicting mma fights last month. Even I, though I may appear to be a seer, will not claim that a fight is completely predictable. Not even for me.

What? I realized I had yet to do any gloating.

    Back to this fight:

Two men with grappling backgrounds have to wind up in a grappling match, don't they? No, they don't. Couture stated he wants to punch Lesnar in the face. I also don't believe that Couture is going to be eager to reach out and grab that hulk once he enters the cage. Lesnar has also started both of his UFC fights trying to punch his opponent in the face.

I'm predicting that Lesnar catches the tough, but able to be ko'd, Couture with a straight right. Couture will go down, and the fight will be stopped shortly thereafter.

Couture has actual boxing experience. Lesnar has learned how to throw a right hand. He doesn't understand boxing as yet. Randy was KO'd by Liddell who has KO'd many a fighter and has a long career in karate. Don't get fooled by the way Lesnar knocked Herring down. Herring was just standing there looking at Brock when he got punched. He never recovered from that initial blow.

I agree with most of this post just depends on how brock get's him down. Randy will come in with his usuall effective gameplan but I don't see how he can get to Brock unless his hands are relly effective. And I don't see Brock having a glass chin, his head looks like a concrete block with a huge neck.

I'm leaning towards Lesnar in this one. Randy is the legend, and has defied the odds for years, but Brock is gonna be on him from the jump. I hope Randy wins, but I think he's gonna have to do with a KO.

i see couture giving lesnar angles, frustrating him..i cant see that big power takedown catching someone as experienced as randy often...and how bout in those clinches...lesnar will never have been roughed up and hit by so many devious up and unders as randy will pepper him with..hard to stick to a game plan when your mind is trying to concentrate on how to stop getting hit....

i predict randy survives one, maybe two big takedowns and maybe some rough moments due to lesnars power, but survive he will....and then he will dominate 3 thru 5 and win a clear decison.....

also, is it just me, or does lesnar have those kinda brows that just look like they are waiting for a fighter to slice open with an elbow/punch......

randy by decision of rsf as couture pounds a tiring lesnar.....or lenar by ko 1...haha

    Yes.:D

I'm going to predict a Randy Couture victory, via stoppage, in two rounds. At the end of the day, I just can't get past the fact that Lesnar went three rounds with Herring despite knocking him down in the first thirty seconds. He looked like a rookie in passing the oppurtunity to stop Herring, in my opinion, and I think Couture, with his wealth of experience, can capitalize on that.

In the clinch I think Lesnar will have a much much harder time taking Couture down than a lot of people seem to think. Let's not forget that Couture has olympic caliber greco, and greco roman wrestling is all about the upper body clinch. Couture is an EXCELLENT dirty boxer as well.

This is their first proper pic of them together.
The size difference is noticeable but not as big as I expected.
