bottom line..like him or not, lesnar has proved that although in absolute mma terms, he may still be raw, his basic striking is enough to floor the big men.....the fight reminded me of, if you excuse the boxing analogy, a very skilled technician vs a huge puncher.....(i dont think lesnar is a HUGE puncher...but **** me, he's certainly got ENOUGH power to trouble most if he lands...).....lets say herol graham vs julian jackson......graham could have boxed rings round most fighters....but jackson had that huge equaliser...POWER..... by the same token, i think randy perhaps showed a brief glimpse if the template to beat brock...control him with his back to the cage..tire him..make him think, dont give any respite....its just unfortunate that randys punch resistance wasnt enough to capitalise as, in my opnion, lesnar would have tired later in the fight.....iv never seen the monster even breathing heavy, but he was in this fight.... lesnar is far from unbeatable, but he is entertaining and if his relatively untested chin proves solid, could certainly prove hard to beat.....hell, im a 300lb 6 footer myself...and im pretty strong..but iv nevr seen such a big man so 'kin mobile as lesnar is, this is his strong suit......but bear in mind..he wont knock everyone over.......and we are still to see him in a truly competitive fight....
I dont care about the elbow. I'm talking about the finish you dip **** which happend way after the elbow. The elbow was a strong shot that suprised Randy but the finishing right hand was'nt hard enough to do that level of damage regardless of where it landed, and neither was the pitter pattter G & P that followed up. Listening to you you'd think that Randy was dropped with a Fedor level rifht hand and pounded with Fedor level G & P. atsch Randy's punch resistance was worse than ever. He was old and out of the ring too much and like Scurl said his punch resistance was never that great to begin with. If you want to pretend that you saw Brock Lesnar dropping bombs then continue pretending. I saw probably the weakest version of Randy go down from an average looking blow and eat even weaker blows after. He went down because of where the punch landed and not becuaue big bad brock was landing bombs. I'm not the only person here who thought those shots look weak. Randy wnet down because he's done and can't take it no more. I knwo when a shots hard or not because i can SEE the power behind it and i know when a done fighter is getting hurt by shots he would'nt have been so badly hurt from in the past. You keep talking about Brock being huge so automatically he hit Randy like a mother ****er to finish him. Which of course is BS. Brock did'nt land bombs to finish Randy so just deal with it. I know what i saw and i saw a fragile, old and rusty Randy crumble from average blows and because of where the first one landed, and i'm not the only one. Randy would not have gone down from that exact shot like that and been so badly hurt in the past. I felt embarrassed for Randy. Just because you hit someone in sweet spot and you weigh a tonne it does'nt mean they are going to go down if you don't put much power behind it. Brock ddin't put much power behind that right. Randy is just ****ing more fragile than ever. Next you'll be telling me that Valuev throws bombs because hes a giant. Hey what if Vlauev Ko's Holyfield with an arm punch? You'll probably claim that it was a bomb because he's huge. Even though it would be clear that it was nothing more than a giant landing an arm punch and that Holy's punch resistance has gone.
The stoppage was legit. A fragile Randy got caught in the wrong spot by an average shot and finsihed by weak shots because he can't take it no more. Not because Brock Lesnar landed a bombs on him. atsch Fedor would have landed bombs on him and they would have been clear for all to see. :deal Ive been watching this **** since UFC 2 and boxing for even longer and i know when i see power and when i see a man who's fragile. On saturday night i saw a fragile old man going down and being finished by a huge man who did'nt put his weight behind his blows. There's plenty of fighters who would have took that right hand from Brock and those g & p shots. To act like nobody would have taken that right hand where it landed is nonsense. Luckily for brock he put just enough power into it and landed it in a good spot to finish the fragile Couture. That finish was nothing to do with a man striking his weight and more to do with a man being done.
nobody is saying it was a big bomb that landed it was like the Serra shot that clipped GSP but was enough to stun him and then went in for the kill as did Lesnar, lesnar was giving short hammer fists but he was relentless and was practically dribbling Coutures head like a basketball when he was already stunned to begin with, Brock never gave him a chance to recover.
I don't think its so much how hard of a shot it was but the placement. I have seen enough fights where a guy gets hit with a shot that doesn't look that hard, but because its in the right place it drops them or makes them do the chicken dance. In Randy's case it dropped him, he didn't get a chance to recover since Brock jumped on him and started dropping those hammer fists on him Its a lot easier to write off a punch as not being hard when you are sitting on a couch watching the tube, with your thumb on the remote control.
No, some people are. I've read posts all over where some people are talking like Randy was dropped by Shavers and pounded by Fedor. I'm just pointing out that he was'nt, and its a good job Fedor never fought Randy because then we woudl have seen Randy out cold form real power shots and that looked hard because they were hard. :deal Anyway i dont want to keep arguing with you boy's. Brock did some very good work in this fight. You are right, that elbow he landed was a very good shot and he threw some nasty looking knee's too. His wrestling was excellent also and he looked very strong. He proved a lot of people worng including myself and now he's the champ. He won the fight but i was'nt impressed with the way he fisihed randy and was'nt impressed with the way Randy went down. I wanted to see some Fedor level power and a brutal light's out finish then i would'nt be here right now with you lot going off on me me. I just feel that the ending was a bit meh on both sides. Then again brock still won the fight and Randy WAS done. Hes still young and has defiently shown improvment in his game. The man is huge so i wnat to see him putting more weight behing his shots as he improves. I want to see him load up more on his G & P blows and go for power over volume so we can see how hard he really hits.
Stop feeding this ****in troll..This guy lost credibility the moment he asked someone to post a video of the fight in the boxing forum because he thinks they will laught at it and can judge it better. Mother****er thought that the boxing forum at esb is the bomb :rofl :rofl :rofl and is trying to pollute the MMA forum
STFU ****, you know what i meant. I've been here lot longer than you dip**** so i know the score. You've read too much into what i said about posting it in the boxing forum. I shoud have worded it better and that's my fault but dont' call me a ****ing troll. Ive been here longer than you dip****. Im a ****ing old school fossil and your a newb ****! Now, **** off! :good
You ******* you are supposed to stand by me. OK i give in. I was'nt impressed by the way this fight ended. That is all. flame me all you want boys! :blah
