Haven't seen as much footage of Turpin as I've seen of monzon but monzon was pretty robotic, not that fast, and throw single well timed shots. That being said, I think randy edges it over 15.

    Discuss.

And yet you picked Randy over Escopeta.

Randy was a monster, monzon was a robot.

If you say so. Not taking anything away from Randy, but you are the 1st person that I've ever seen or heard that takes him over Carlos. I know I wouldn't. Just out of curiousity, are you English by any chance?

I'm from the us but I just don't see any "special effects" in monzon that everyone else sees

I see what you're saying because he didn't appear 'dynamic, ' almost workmanlike instead. But he was/had a master of distance, fantastic boxing IQ, 15 round stamina, excellent power, excellent chin, tall and long for a middleweight, over 90 fights and no losses for years, up until Hopkins the record for middleweight title defenses.

I could not agree more. Nicely put. Randy was an excellent fighter, but I have Carlos as a top 3 atg middleweight.

He really had that kill or be killed mentality
Not the same build or the same country men but Valero had something monzon about him imo

Two of my favourite fighters ever

Shame how it played out for both
And I'm afraid I'm english sorry about that

Randy was excellent and Carlos is an atg. It's that simple. 2 very impressive fighters. Randy had 60 plus victories. Tremendous.

The randy that beat SRR could have beaten monzon but Carlos was more reliable and wins on points most of the time.turpin used to like picking fights with big blokes in pubs in his middle age as you do .not much to do in lemington spar on a Saturday night back then.still I suppose its better than chucking your missus out of a upstairs window.mind how go.
