how do you think everybody's favourite fighter, rashad evans, would of gone against randy couture? would randy just be too good for rashad? i read a lot of critisizm of evans on this forum, not sure why though? he seems like a decent person and a good fighter, ex-champ.
I think Randy's size and tactics would be too much for Rashad. Rashad is very athletic and moves well but Randy will study the film and look to nullify that and thats by doing what Randy does best and its closing the distance, getting Rashad to the fence and working his game and thats where I think being naturally bigger will come into play. Rashad being so athletic and hard to keep down may give Randy fits for awhile but I think eventually Randy imposses his will and keeps him down similar to how he beat Liddell the 1st fight.
I think Rashad wrestling can nullify Randy. His speed and power give Randy hell and could put him away.
Get the **** outta here with that bull****. Before Randy became shot, the only guys who ever properly stopped him were Barnett (enormous, roided, brilliant) and Chuck (top 5 lhw ever, much better striker/fighter than Rashad ever was). Prime Couture beat prime Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz, Vitor Belfort twice, Rizzo, Randleman, Horn, even Sylvia and Gonzaga. By comparison, Rashad Evans's resume is ****ing ****. At his physical peak, he could only MD Stephan Bonnar, draw with Tito Ortiz (Couture dominated the **** out of a better Tito) and SD mw Michael Bisping. Sure he KO'd Chuck - in 2008. Randy KO'd Chuck in 2003, again when Chuck was a much, much better fighter. He won the title off one of the worst ufc champs ever (Forrest), got absolutely owned and annihilated in his 1st defence v Machida (arguably the 1st time he ever fought a prime, top-class lhw), and since then has been wholly unimpressive and unconvincing, boring wrestlehumps vs Thiago Silva and Rampage Jackson (even tho a shot 'Page nearly KO'd him with a clipping punch, the same Page who couldn't stop Matt Hamill), a meaningless stoppage over a shot-to-**** late stand-in Tito, and a failure to put away Phil Davis in 5 rounds. Just because Randy got stopped a few times when he was shot doesn't mean a prime version would get stopped by a pretender like Rashad. If Couture in his prime could beat Liddell, Ortiz and Belfort, believe me he could and would seriously **** Rashad up.
