Marquez's greatest wins: Pacman 4 - What a KO. Marquez had lost a lot of speed, and had tailored more of his game towards pacing himself like a true counter puncher, trying to get the KO as planned. Marquez did not go into this fight to get a decision win. Nor did Pacquiao. Marquez was 39 years old and his speed was no way near fight 1. Arguably he won at least 2 of the 3 other fights against Pacquiao. Derrick Gainer Juan Diaz Orlando Salido Marco Antonio Barrera - only just, and Barrera was not in his prime, and Barrera arguably won that fight, Lederman thinks Barrera won by two rounds. - His resume has the least impressive names. Morales' greatest wins: He won the second fight but he finished second place to Barrera. Manny 1 - still, he finished second in this trilogy - Manny's weight draining and off-prime fighting tactics were in play for this trilogy however. Erik in the second fight looked DEAD during the weigh in. Junior Jones - Hello Barrera Ayala Jesus Chavez McCullough In-Jin Chi Espadas Jr - Before the Morales loss, he was a beast. Morales ruined his career and he was losing to bums as a result. -- This is very hard as they're all virtually even. A hairs width separates these three fighters. I think I could probably even change my mind as a result.
its few aspects, like h2h, peak, longevity or overall accomplishments I think Marquez is getting better as he is older and he still have something left in him so I guess he is already or he will be soon at the top, probably as the best Mexican boxer in history even surpassing Chavez Sr. Morales is the most fan friendly, and most exiting form all of them. I'm personally biased towards Barrera, and at their peak I think Barrera beats all of them h2h (he already did Morales), he had ups and downs and both of them are historically significant.

It's a discussion worth having, which is to say I don't buy into the idea that the weekend's result catapulted Juan Manuel Marquez onto a different level to his two Mexican counterparts. It depends on how you scored certain fights though. For example, Juan Manuel Marquez perhaps deserves at least two victories against Manny Pacquiao despite only having the one official win over him. Likewise, the majority of fight fans on this site seem to think Morales deserved the nod in his second fight with Barrera, whereas I personally scored all three of their encounters together in favour of The Baby Faced Assassin. Depending on how you view these fights, you could conceivably have them in any order and be able to back it up with solid reasoning. For what it's worth, I consider MAB to have been the most complete fighter of the three.
