1. Marquez -arguably the most technical boxer to come out of Mexico. Has had the most success moving up in weight, and has beat very good fighters in the process at a late stage in his career. 2. Barrera-Has had the most succes at the lighter weights against very great fighters. Although past his prime, did lose to Marquez and did not have the longevity or success that Marquez has had in the bigger divisions. 3. Morales-Of the three has the most exciting style. Although he was on the B-side of most of the trilogy he shared with Barrera, he does have a win over a prime Pacquaio (something Barrera never accomplished). El Terrible is a very debatable 3rd place on my list. Overall, I believe Marquez will go down as the 2nd greatest fighter to come out of Mexico, only behind the great JCC.
I make no secret of my bias towards Barrera but for the last few years I've felt exactly the same way about JMM as I did about MAB. I think as has been pointed out, prime Barrera bests the other two H2H,but it doesn't hurt at all to acknowledge that JMM will eventually become the undisputed #1 of the three. In fact it's a bit like my youngest achieving more than my oldest... No problem at all. And Hatesrats,I suspect MAB analysed that KO with a hint of jealousy which I for one can completely understand. He's admitted he just couldn't work Pacquaio out yet JMM was born to fight him. I think he's missing the game and analyzes big fights a bit like SRL used to,always thinking "that should be me up there" I've heard him praise JMM's tactics against Pacquaio and in general, but I think him and Erik are very complex characters. Just like it should be.:good
Marquez Morales Mab Jcc trumps all,Marquez will be number 2/3 to ever come out of Mexico when skills, longevity, consistently taking on top ranked opponents of his divisions, and massive ko victory over a prime ww Pac...and consistenyl being top .p4p for years
That was a young Pac physically not in peak and Morales clowned him yes, but it wasn't a dominate performance just a close clear victory. Marquez ktfo A prime WW pacquiao as a 39 year old man moving up a division. Gtfo comparing Marquez to the others Marquez clearly outdoes them.
MAB Morales Marquez but I wouldn't be fussed if anyone had it different, there's not much between the three of them.
There is much between Marquez and the rest close battle for second place with Mab Morales. Marquez morallah/mab
