They're all great legends, you can interchangeably rank them and there'd be no wrong answer. Great fighters, only wish we got the chance to see JMM vs Morales. It would have made it even more complete and be seen as another Fab 4 (Pac, JMM, Barrera, Morales).
Both Marquez and Morales won belts in 4 divisions, could of been 5 if Morales won that Diaz fight at 135 or Pac got the nod in the Bradley fight therefore KO6 would of been for the WBO 147 strap. Barrera maxed out at Super Featherweight but minus the Pacquaio wins of the other two, has a better body of work if you recognize his WBO title reign in the 90's. Morales- 18-5 in world title fights. 16-8 against former world champions 4 division world champion, unified two of them Top 5 Wins Barrera 1 Pacquaio 1 Junior Jones Daniel Zaragosa Ayala Barrera- 22-4 in world title fights, but a lot of them were for the lowly WBO title in the 90's 18-7 against former world champions 3 division world champion, unified one of them although his best work was at 126. Top 5 Wins Morales 2 Morales 3 Hamed McKinney Tapia Marquez- 9-5-1 in world title fights 14-6 against former world champions 4 division world champion, unified two of them Top 5 Wins Pacquaio 4 Derrick Gainer Juan Diaz 1 Orlando Salido Casamayor
01 - Marquez 02 - Morales 03 - Barrera But you can rank Morales and Barrera any way you like and get no argument from me.
I thought Barrera beat Marquez close, and got ripped off of a knockdown, which was incorrectly ruled a slip.
upto 30 , morales , barrera marquez , by the time they were retired , marquez morales barerra 3 of the best ever , morales and marquez hold wins over pacman , i remember thinking barerra beat marquez when they fought though ironically showed how close they all were shame we never got el terrible vs marquez
H2H, prime for prime, Barrera beats both. I always found Morales and Juan to be overrated fighters who benefitted from fighting in a very weak era. I think neither would be successful in today's 130, 135, 140, and 147 division. Crawford, Ennis, Spence, Shakur, Grevonta, Haney, Loma, Ortiz Jr, and Ryan all beat them IMO. Hell..... Keyshawn Davis is a level above the three. All three fighters are extremely overrated because they fought in the Manny and Floyd era. They would be Journeymen today, in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s.
