I’m morally opposed to punching power threads but I can’t resist: In what order would you rank the punching power of Langford, Dempsey, Marciano, and Wilder?

One shot explosiveness for peak power...
    1)Wilder
    2)Dempsey
    3)Langford
    4) Marciano

If we're talking heavy hands where we average out the damage each shot does, it's a different order.

Wilder did not stop a relevant name in his complete life so for me this guy does not exist in any top of punchers

I think they all hit in the same range. I don't think any one of them is significantly above the other in terms of power.

It's really a tough question. If Wilder weighed as much as Marciano, would he still hit harder? I'll go with what I've seen. Though Marciano best opponents were beyond their time, I'd still pick the opposition he faced and the knock-outs he had, over the below bum of the Months Wilders been facing. The other 2 are more hear say, to me with no real evidence for me at least to speculate on how hard they hit. I'll go with Marciano for dynamic punching power over decent competition.

You think that Langford and Dempsey's single hardest punches are harder than Wilder's?

I don`t think Wilder has thrown a harder shot than the right hand that knocked Walcott out in the first fight. After writing this Wilder blew Breazale out with a shot far harder than any punch Dempsey or Marciano ever threw.
