Neither are ATG. The cluster with guys like Patterson, Norton, Bowe, Vitkli and Walcott that made significant contributions to the division without ever really bossing it, but they are at the back of that pack. Now, of they fight each other, the winner jumps to the front. Then we'll talk.
This is a really accurate comparison. As things stand now, Fury and Joshua are very much on the Bowe/Vitali//Norton/Walcott/Patterson level, if not slightly below.
Tyson Fury is the ATG--at talking trash and pulling out of fights. AJ, well, if there was a category for an allegedly top HW constantly fighting guys in their 40's, he would probably win that.
AJ is around #25, and Fury is between #45 and #50. Neither is really an ATG heavyweight. AJ is perhaps on the same level as Max Baer. Fury is the 21st century's Tony "Belly" Galento. There only been 2 ATG heavyweights since 2005: W Klitschko and Usyk.
i think the more you learn about boxing, the lower they drop in quality. period between wlad and usyk, there was no daddy. just a bunch of incomplete fighters looking good one day, then ass the next.
Unlikely he would win that one, considering the only guy he has ever fought over the age of 40 was Klitschko.
