It's not easy but I would definitely put Patterson first.

Ali's jab was scientifically measured to be quicker than SRR jab. That's quick for a hwt. I've never seen a hwts jab as quick as prime Ali's.

Patterson was a natural 170 pound guy. If you want to put him the list then put Roy Jones Jr. Neither were "heavyweights" by modern standards.

So Mike Tyson overall had the quickest hands. Especially if you are talking about throwing fast punches with power. Most of Ali's punches were slapping punches.

I would add some underachieving titleholders who nevertheless also had quick hands for Heavyweights to the list - Greg Page, Bruce Seldon and David Haye.

I don't think any heavyweight had faster hands than Ali.

Page, Dokes and Holmes were the quickest early on in the 80's. Dokes thru more combo's and got in closer at times and looked faster. He also lost some sting pretty quickly at this time. Holmes was probably the least quickest but still had great handspeed.

Tubbs had the fastest hands, not a cool choice but he did, and he wasn't a natural cruiser either like a Patterson, Hide or Haye.
