I put him at an 8.. He would be nine if he didn't have this tendency to brawl.

I agree with this. I gave him an 8, but, frankly, he relies heavily on his speed. He has great natural ability, which Freddie and Ariza have helped him to maximize. But, he is not well schooled (in the sense that scholarly fighters like B-Hop, Toney, Marquez, Mayweather, etc. are), and it shows at times.

When he slows noticeably, he will be forced to rely on his technical skills, and better schooled fighters will, probably, be able to exploit his flaws in this area, IMO. His power is not such where he stops fighters with a single shot, consistently. So, he will have to set up his shots more, at that point, and employ enough defense to not take too much punishment.

I don't see him as the type of fighter who should be fighting outside his prime, unless the "Manny Pack" is akin to the legendary "Fountain of Youth".

I don't think Floyd has ever been in a ring with someone faster than him.

    Judah wasn't faster than him

Maybe Mitchell?? Mitchell sucked though, seemed like every Mayweather punch hurt him.

If you are fast why would you not develop your style around your speed. Manny is a technical fighter for the style that suits him best. Sitting in the pocket behind your guard is not the only way to be a technical fighter. In what he does Manny is extremely technical. Its just not what you regard as technical boxing. And if god had been more kind to you and blessed you with the sinister gift what you call technical boxing would result in you getting your ass beat bloody.

I can't believe there are so many ******s here. You don't get to where Pac is based on athleticism, with a technical ability of 6 or 7. That's just not possible.

I bet some people would rank Chad Dawson higher base on this 'technical' scale, but he would never achieve what Manny has done. Some would probably rank Judah higher. Style does not determine technical abilities...and fighting in the Philly shell style does not make you perfect.

And his defense is highly underrated. People forgot that he didn't get clocked by Mosley the way Mayweather did or came close to being as hurt as much. There are tons of athletic fighters out there, but very few are as good as Pac. His offensive is a solid 10 and his defense is a solid 8.

7 for me... some people are forgetting this thread is about his "technical" skill... not his greatness, etc....
