While I think Marquez is at least a 9 in skill, I think he has a case for 10 considering that skill is almost all he relies on. He's not fast, and he has good but not great power, he recovers well from hard shots but he's not iron chinned. He's actually a bit unspectacular when it comes to the physical aspect. And yet, he's consistently been on of the best fighters of this decade. And if he's done that mostly because of skill, I'd definitely say he has a case for rating 10 on skill.

 

As a southpaw he is fantastic, just a little short of Whitaker. Too bad all of you orthodox fighters and posers in general cant see that because you dont know **** about being a southpaw.

Manny is a better technical fighter against orthodox fighters than Floyd is against southpaws. Or do you not remember Floyd's lead rights missing wildly against a tired Judah? He took some nasty body shots because of those wild rights too.

 

Voted without reading this thread and was surprised to read that most agree with Manny being an 8 on the skill department.

His skills as an offensive fighter. No **** right. He's is one of the best offensive fighters of all time, and that is not debatable. 10 all the way, much higher than Mayweather for offense.

As for defensive skills, I'd say he is a 5 or a 6.

 

Like a 6 or 7.

 

9. You don't win the way he does against who he does without being an exceptional boxer.
