Crawford has the best combination of offense and defence out of all those boxers. Leonard and Hearns defense is levels below Crawford. That's why I rate him higher.

As for dominance, why can't Leonard have a long reign after beating Benitez, Duran and Hearns? I'll tell you why, it's because he loved drinking too much and snorting coke. Obviously he got a severe injury too, but he admitted to his addiction problems.

You rate on what you like to see.

    Without context.

Without taking into account the level of opposition etc.

How about using traditional ranking criteria:

    Ability
    Overall resume
    Wins
    Accomplishments
    Longevity

Terence can’t be objectively ranked above Floyd.

And he has the weakest resume out of everyone.

Fighting Burns, Porter, Gamboa and shot versions of Brook and Khan, aren’t the same as fighting Marvin, Duran and Benitez etc.

That should be obvious to you.

Any of the other 3 could have replicated the same timeline and dominated those opponents within their weight class.

1985 was the year Leonard admitted that retirement got to his head, so he dabbled with coke. 1981 and 1982, when he was active and still in his prime, not one shred of evidence exists, then, that he was into coke.

"Leonard said he used the drug for three years to escape depression over an eye injury that prompted his first retirement from boxing in 1982. He said he quit taking the drug in early 1986."

    So, I only half correct.

I was right here: “1981 and 1982, when he was active and still in his prime, not one shred of evidence exists, then, that he was into coke.”

But wrong here: “1985 was the year Leonard admitted that retirement got to his head, so he dabbled with coke.”

Duran at 54 isn’t an all time great

    he lost to Kirkland Laing

Holds no major victories above 147 to make him and ATG

Duran was an ATG at 35-47

    above that no

Crawford does not have a better combincation of offense and defense compared to Benitez, Leonard, Floyd, and Duran. Based on what?

Duran was an ATG in general.

He went on to win the MW title about 5 years later.

In his mid to late 30’s, after 90 odd fights.

    That was a great fighter.

    It’s no different from Canelo.

Canelo is rated by many as a HOF/ATG in general.

I’m sure that when he retires, most people will class him as a HOF/ATG fighter.

Yet he did nothing at JMW either.

He couldn’t win a round off of Floyd.

Just look at some of his potential opponents from the time.

I had it 10-2 Mayweather but yeah there is possibly a argument Canelo didn't win a round.

About Leonard, he never wanted to turn pro to begin with. Only did it because he needed the money. And after all the money he made for Duran and Hearns etc, I think he didn't have much desire left.

But apparently partying and sleeping with beautiful women all the time, still wasn't fulfilling enough. Suppose he missed the spotlight and everything else connected with big fights. So he kept coming back until it was clear he had nothing left. Ali and Fury are similar cases.
