yeh i remember that 168 division really well such names as Tocker Pudwell and Mario Veit legends in the game

and them 90s HWs were crap remember taht bum Holyfield and that midget Mike Tyson. truly shocking division

Hatton and Naz have similar CVs in their most dominant weight but Naz established himself in 2 weight classes as the number 1 which is very impressive. Also hatton is often regarded as one of the worst british champs ever by historians not by me though

Lennox domianted the end of a great era which is still very impressive the 90s were very good and he dominated th mid to late 90s IMo which is enough to warrant top spot.

Lewis? Oliver McCall and Rahman (in the words of Mayweather - that's the anecdote). Who beat Calzaghe? Kessler and Hopkins were two big risks for Calzaghe, but no anecdote there either.

90s - one of the best periods for heavyweight boxing? :rofl

McCall and rahman were later avenged and im sure unifieing the division and beating Holyfield twice (i know th first was a draw but was a robbery), and dominating his division makes up for the losses.

as for the 90s as the best periods. how is it not one of the best periods you had names like Riddock Bowe, Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson fighting in that time and all are highly regarded fighters

Better arguments here, but the point with Lewis is that he fought a washed-up Tyson. Tyson in his prime would destroyed Lewis.

From that list Lewis clearly has the greater accomplishments and resume. He was the most dominant fighter in the best division. Your opinion on the 'heavyweight division at the time' is nonsense. It was very strong and deep: Bowe, Ruddock, Mercer, Briggs, Bruno, Holyfield, Golota, Tua, Tyson and Lewis - is not a 'weak or shallow' division by any stretch of the imagination.

Wayne McCullough did not cause Naz trouble. It was a wide UD with McCullough taking 2-3 rounds at the most. McCulough celebrated it like a victory because he made it to the final bell. That should tell you everything you need to know.

Naz's career wasn't particularly short. He retired young, but achieved a lot. Why is career length even a factor? Kevin Kelley is still fighting at 41, does that fact alone make him a great fighter?, or is it what he actually achived in that career?

Hamed and Hatton both unified their division, both were linear champs. But Hamed clearly has the better resume IMO, and P4P was the more talented and gifted fighter.

yes he did fight a washed up tyson but he s still dangerous

and how do you know a prime tyson would destroy him. I think Tyson would win but it wouldnt be a destruction

After the Douglas defeat in 1990 - Tyson was never the same again, so I think of Tyson as a boxing great in the 80s. Of course, no one can say for sure because it is hypothetical, but that is my firm belief, Tyson was a monster in his prime.

Remember George Foreman, he did alright in that golden era for heavyweight boxing in the 90's. In between selling grills he was winning two titles and taking 'greats' such as Holyfield and Briggs for 12 rounds. :rofl How do like those apples :deal
