He can be ranked ahead of them.
    For example ....

Foreman destroyed prime Norton in 2 rounds.
A 15 round win over a fading Norton is probably Holmes's best ever win !
Foreman won the title by destroying an undefeated Frazier in 2 rounds.
Frazier may have been a bit declined from his best but stll I think most people rate him as a good champion. Better than, say, Trevor Berbick, no ?

Foreman in his prime only lost to Muhammad Ali and Jimmy Young.
Muhammad Ali is better than Buster Douglas or Hasim Rahman actually.
Jimmy Young was an embarrassing loss for Foreman, so emabarrassing Foreman retired for 10 years, but Lewis, Holmes, Holyfield and Tyson had some pretty embarrassing losses too.

Foreman fought a lot of bums in his career, but many of them were about as good as at least 50% of Larry Holmes's TITLE CHALLENGERS.

Foreman, after 10 years out, in his old age of 42 went the distance with Holyfield and at 45 knocked out Moorer.
    Compare to :
Tyson, who couldn't last the distance with Holyfield at age 30 and only 4 years out of the ring.
    .. and
... Holyfield, who at 31 looked awful LOSING a decision to Moorer a few months before Foreman KO'd him.

OLD Foreman lost to some crap opponents like Morrison (who ran from him) and (unofficially) Schulz but was robbed at age 48 against Shannon Briggs, who some people regard as some sort of "notable" win on Lewis's resume.
Foreman did okay in the 1990s after his 10 year break without even really trying. He was a fat old guy who had long lost his killer instinct. It probably shows how overrated the 1990s are for an old man like him to have been able to do anything at all.

Lennox's Lewis's best win is probably a 36 year old Holyfield, doesn't really compare to Foreman's destruction of Frazier in 1973.

#1 living heavyweight is either HOLMES or FOREMAN.
Today I give Foreman a slight edge.

I can't put Foreman above Holmes or Holyfield, sorry folks. To me their achievements bear this out more than the admittedly incredible wins over Frazier and Norton. Holmes ruled the heavies for seven-and-a-half-years undefeated and off-paper is a two time champ as well imo.

As far as Holyfield...again, the record speaks for itself, but perhaps moreso his overall ring performances...just seeing is believing in the Real Deal imo.

I have no problem with Lewis, Holmes or Foreman at #1 personally. I'd have Holyfield one spot ahead of Tyson after this. Ranking Foreman above Evander isn't hard to do at all.

People think I dislike the guy, hell no...
I just think he overrates on the back of those Frazier Norton blowouts . His resume of great wins is thin and he was ultra exposed as a one trick pony at his peak.
    Significant fighter yes.
    Number 1 , hell No .

Well there is certainly some validity to what you're saying. Foreman beats up two great fighters then gets knocked out by an old guy (who got beat by the guys George beat) who couldn't punch as hard as any of them on his best day. Not much later he had a terrible time beating Ron Lyle whose main distinction was looking real bad against Ali. Then a guy who couldn't hit as hard as any of the above definitely knocked him down and beat him. Then he kinda quit, though he probably would have crossed paths with Larry sooner or later and gotten stopped again. So, it was back to church before the next good boxer beat him.

Keep in mind I love George he's probably my favorite besides Larry and Ali. I just want to be fair to the naysayers.

    You got it.
Nice to see some sanity where GF is concerned.
He deserves great credit for coming back as an older fighter but again theres nothing special on the resume.

This has haunted me since yesterday, mostly because I think you might be right. Evander beat Foreman and Holmes long past their primes, so his biggest victory was probably Bowe (again, given both were in their primes).

As much as I love Bowe and hold him in very high regard in his prime, what Holyfield did wasn't knocking out Frazier and Norton in two rounds apiece. And it wasn't winning the heavyweight title again at middle age, though Holy was old for a fighter I think that last time he won the belt.
