I know I am missing somebody, but... Lennox Usyk Holy (when on PEDs) Wlad Fury (Wlad or Wilder II versions only) Tyson (Left his best in the 80's) Bowe Joshua VitKlit Ibeacucchi
#1 Holyfield #2 Usyk The rest.. These two have done incredible things against men who have distinct size advantages over them. Lewis is an ATG but he had natural HW assets that these two lacked, yet they still rose to the top.
H2H? 1. Lewis 2. Vitali 3. Wlad 4. Usyk 5. Bowe 6. Holyfield 7. Joshua 8. Fury 9. Tyson 10. Ibeabuchi Achievements/resume? 1. Lewis 2. Holyfield 3. Wlad 4. Usyk 5. Bowe 6. Fury 7. Vitali 8. Joshua 9. Tyson 10. Valuev (maybe)
H2H 1) Lennox Lewis 2)Riddick Bowe ( albeit for only 2 or 3 fights when he was in shape ) 3) Vitali Klitschko (taken over from Larry Holmes as history's most underrated heavyweight champion ) 4) Oleksandr Usyk 5) Wladimir Klitschko 6) Evander Holyfield 7) Buster Douglas ( Tokyo Douglas gives any heavyweight in history a tough fight ) 8)Tyson Fury ( I've got to include him although I thoroughly detest the guy ) 9) Ike Ibeabuchi ( like Riddick Bowe and Buster Douglas just wasted his tremendous talent ) 10) Ray Mercer (when Mercer bothered to train properly he was tremendous fighter ) Resume 1) Lennox Lewis 2) Wladimir Klitschko 3) Oleksandr Usyk 4) Evander Holyfield 5) Vitali Klitschko 6) Anthony Joshua ( the guy's career stats are pretty damned good ) 7) Riddick Bowe ( he underachieved but beating ATG Holyfield is highly significant ) 8) Michael Moorer 9)George Foreman ( a remarkable 90s resume by Big George considering his age ) 10) Ray Mercer
Great question and thread idea...and a tough one. So from 1990 till now, I'm going to base it on career legacy, championship reigns...basically overall career rather than simply H2H (might make a separate list for that). So, based on total body of work and skill level: 1. Evander Holyfield...c'mon now, can it be anyone else? 2. Lennox Lewis...just about gets in there ahead of Tyson 3. Mike Tyson...people forget the man was still an absolute wrecking machine till about 2000 4. Wladimir Klitschko...the best heavyweight career of the 00s 5. Riddick Bowe....those wins over Holyfield were phenomenal 6. Oleksandr Usyk...highly skilled but not quite had the quality to contend with at HW that would rank him higher 7. Vitali Klitschko...his greatest night was a loss but it made him a star and he cleared out a bunch of good contenders 8. George Foreman...he had a remarkable return and was either competitive against several top guys or outright beat them 9. Anthony Joshua...straight up cleared out so many of the top guys in the division and people forget that 10. Tyson Fury...clings onto the 10th spot, largely on skill alone and beating Wlad that first time. But Dubois is a win or 2 away from making it here
P4P: 1. Evander Holyfield 205llbs Bowe 1 fight 2. 1988 Mike Tyson 3. Oleksandr Usyk 4. Lennox Lewis 5. peak Holmes not 90s Holmes 6. Bowe 235lbs Holyfield 1 fight 7. Wlad 8. Ike Abeabuchi 9. Tyson Fury 10. Anthony Joshua
Usyk ahead of Lewis? What you been smoking? He's had like 5 fights at heavy. His biggest wins are against a manufactured, stiff heavyweight with no chin and the other is a former drug addicted, problem drinker who arguably lost his previous fight vs a debutant mma, who then went on to get destroyed by the stiff robot His accomplishments at cruiser may put him over lewis p4p, that's debatable, but no chance is he ahead of Lewis as a heavyweight. I'd have him behind a few others too, but that's laughable imo to rate him over lewis as a HW Wouldn't put wlad ahead either, but he defended titles for a decade so I can understand it
I watch boxing for over 30 years. Usyk would school lewis imo. Lewis went live and death with mavrovic. There is a reason he run from southpaws. Usyk would clown him. For usyk tyson and holyfield and wlad would be tough. Everyone else has no chance
Usyk had to come from behind to beat a bum like bellew and don't even get me started with chisora Usyk couldn't school Fury without getting his face mangled. Imagine that was Lewis landing the uppercut? No chance does Usyk beat Lewis, he certainly does not school him Also Tyson would be more than tough. Even the 90s version would knock him out
