Inspired by a tangential offshoot under the Pulev vs. Glazkov topic...

Here is the pool of 30 names. Sort them as you will, and let's all compare notes! :cheers

To spice it up, I'll make Povetkin eligible for inclusion with the expectation that most will have him #1...but I'm curious to see if maybe a few put him lower.

    (click names for Boxrec pages)

I'm not sure of guys who are 30+ and are officially belt holders should
be counted as prospects .... similarly holding zero at the age of 35+
and never being relevant so far (Larzen, Manousr, Rodriguez) is hardly
counting as being prospect, they needs around 1-2 years to establish
themselves as legit contenders, at that time the age call for retirement.

otherwise ... where is Holyfield at your list?

By the time the Klitschko brothers retire for good, all but maybe 3-4 names on that list will belong to thirty-somethings or forty-somethings (Fujimoto, Dinu, Rivas and Carmack might still be in their twenties)

First of all, dippy, who on that list is a belt holder?

All the legitimate belts are in the possession of one Klitschko brother or the other, or Povetkin.

2nd, did I hallucinate Holyfield losing all those times?

This is about ranking unbeaten heavyweights...all of whom are currently prospects or prospect/contenders. NONE of them are world titlists. :hi:

Interesting thread. A few London 2012 HWs will also come into the mix at some stage too.

This (below) looks fine to me, except I'm not sure about Boytsov ... he really has to beat someone better than a faded Dominick Guinn to have any cred.

    1) Pulev
    2) Glazkov
    3) Boytsov
    4) Fury
    5) Jennings
    6) Price
    7) Helenius
    8.) Scott
    9) Perez
    10) Ortiz

Have also read that Vincent Thompson (USA) 12-0 has some potential.

you just answered your question, Povetkin
IS OFFICIALLY beholder and he should not be counted as a prospect ...
adding to that ... he will not be unbeaten in March 2013 anymore,
    .....

with Holyfield (outside the two title shots when he was robed)
he is unbeaten since 2006 ... he is still the best what US can offer these days.

IB....do you have a genuine dislike for Rodriguez?

I mean he may be a little arrogant, and he is getting up there in age, 36, but he'd truly murder half those guys you have ranked ahead of him, and there's really no arguing it.:think

    Potvetkin

    Helenius

    Fury

    Pulev

    Jennings

    Price

    Mago

    Szpilka

    Ruiz Jr

    Glaskov

    Boystov

    Perez

    Rodriguez

    Scott

    Ortiz

    Wawryk

    Dinu

    Pianeta

    Monsour

    Hanks

    Wilder

    Rosberg

    Fujimoto

    Towers

    Larsen

    Browne

    Rivas

    Teper

    Rudenko

    Carmack

    Wallische

Still holding out hope that Helenius was merely pulling his shots vs Tank.

If the injury is non reparable, he's toast.

Havent seen many of those guys, but from what Ive read, and the hype surrounding them, thats a fair assessment from my perspective.

Anyone remember the name of the new K2 HW. Young guy, SP, big, and moving along well prior to promotional problems, but still has managed a respectable 15-0 record I think.

    Dydenko or some ****?:huh

Got him a colombian necktie last New Yrs.

Got back in the gym in May and was scheduled to fight Quezada and Zumbano Love. Had venues for both, but then he tore a miniscus in his knee.

He's back in the gym and his ppl are setting up fights with the guys Ive mentioned.

Of course he himself is talking Klitschko, but seems he's actually considering moving up from C to B level without trying to jump straight from journeyman to world champ.:yep

, if you pay attention you'd see that it's explained in the OP why I edited Povetkin into the list. I'm assuming that most rank him #1 due to the mere fact of being a world titlist (and he's more accomplished than the rest even if he wasn't one at the moment) but it seemed worth checking to see if anybody might bump someone else ahead of him based on h2h potential as a heavier criteria if he was included. This is all subjective, so it's whatever mix of criteria people want to use to rank them.

See how in my list, Pulev is listed at #1? Originally Povetkin wasn't even in the conversation, but I decided to go ahead and throw his name in for the hell of it...and I'm not going to edit the whole title just to reflect his inclusion.

Holyfield is irrelevant to bring up in this conversation and you know it. Don't be obtuse. "Unbeaten since 2006" - LOL! Very creative.
