1. Jones 2. Hopkins 3. Toney 4. Calzaghe Head to head, I think Jones beats them all. I'd take Hopkins over the bottom two and Toney over Calzaghe, but I can see JC taking it as well.
Why not include David Starie (or dozens of others) in the mix if you are including and ranking guys from an obviously lower class/level against prime Jones, Hopkins, and Toney? Or, just ask for a ranking of Jones, Hopkins, and Toney. Only a non-athletic couch potato moron could fail to rank the 4th spot correctly.
I totally agree with your resume ranking but I think Hops beats Toney and Toney beats Calzaghe. I like Toney against Joe because Joe likes to fight inside and use angles, I think this fits Toney's style. Though I think Hopkins beats Toney becuase he was a far superior fighter on the outside and would never let Toney close the distance, Toney let guys come to him and Calzaghe would do this, Hopkins wouldnt'
I'm a sheep ?? Nice choice of words coming from a Welshman Maybe your bllinded by patriotism ?? Farmboxer, your love for joe shows no boundaries does it ??
Calzaghe would only do this if it was working. Otherwise he would box Toney from the outside and win rather easily. The surest place among those four is no. 4 - it belongs 100% to Toney. The others are harder to place, but I have a tendency to think a prime RJJ would be too good. The other two are very difficult to separate as they are both clever and thinking boxers and would adapt to eachother.
In terms of legacy: 1. Hopkins 2. Jones 3. Toney (inconsistent) 4. Calzaghe In terms of resume: 1. Toney 2. Hopkins 3. Jones 4. Calzaghe Head to Head in prime 1. Jones 2. Toney 3. Hopkins 4. Calzaghe
