H2H Jones Hopkins/JC Toney I can't see Toney winning any. I can't see Jones losing any. Hopkins vs JC too close... if I had to make a call I suspect Bhop would have taken it.
In terms of Legacy 1 Jones 2 Calzaghe/Hopkins 4 Toney In terms of Resume 1 Bhop 2 Jones 3 Calzaghe 4 Toney Head to Head in prime 1 Jones (beats them all) 2 Calzaghe (beats bhop and toney) 3 Bhop (beats toney) 4 Toney (beats no one)
Spot number 4 belongs to your boy Calzaghe. Toney has the best RESUME of the four but has been inconsistent. Legacy: 1. Hopkins 2. Jones 3. Toney 4. Calzaghe Resume 1. Toney 2. Hopkins 3. Jones 4. Calzaghe
Jones Hopkins Toney Calzaghe I can see one ranking Calzaghe over Toney in legacy due to Toney's inconsistency (and his positive drug tests don't help) but no way should Calzaghe should be ranked above Toney for resume.
This is really a joke here. Do you see Calzaghe fighting Jirov, Holyfield, Rahman, Peter, Guinn...?Who has Calzaghe fought under 40?!!WTF, I would pick Nunn and McCallum over Calzaghe. Toney has achieved more than Jones at heavyweight and also crusierweight. James Toney has the best resume of the 4. He has been inconsistent but still ranks above Calzaghe at 3.
1. Jones 2. Hopkins 3. Toney 4. Calzaghe In fairness i find it a lot easier to put Calzaghe in 4th than I do to arrange the other 3. They all had different great accomplishments, it depends how i'm feeling which i prefer. Really Joe had nothing till the Lacy fight, and not a hell of a lot after. Kessler, and old beatable version of Hopkins, is that what gets him ahead of the rest??
What **** are you talking man, B-Hop wud destroy him in his prime as well as teh fact that he got a dodgy decsision when they did meet...
I agree. Joe Calzaghe is a great fighter but he ranks behind the three at number 4, no doubt. It really hurts Toney that he was DQ against ruiz and did not become champ. But keep in mind that he still has accomplished more at heavyweight than Jones.
I definitely agree on the record, James Toney has the best one.H2H, I agree too. However, in terms of legacy, Jones and Hopkins rank ahead as they have been more consistent and less out of shape. However, Toney could still catch up if he captures a major title at heavyweight.
The difference between Toney and the other three is that none of them would have lost the fights that he did. It could be said that the others might not have won the fights that he did too. But that's pie in the sky. Woulda, coulda, oughta. They all had some sort of magic. Three of them had magic that didn't let them lose to fighters like Thadzi. Toney's spectacular career is pockmarked by the times he let himself down.
