head to head : 1.Calzaghe 2.Jones (close to Calz) 3.Toney 4.Hopkins Resume : 1.Jones 2.Toney 3.Hopkins 4.Calzaghe
Jones Hopkins Toney Calzaghe Joe does belong in this list and would gibe all 3 a hell of a fight in their primes. He just wouldnt beat any of them. Toney despite his tremendous resume, one thinks he could have been close to Jones....he was as intimidating as Hagler in hey heyday at Middleweight....Benn + espescially Eubank pooped their pants at the thought of facing him
Jones in his prime would've beaten them all on any given day. Toney and hopkins were the most fundamentally skilled of the 4 while jones and calz were very talented. If joe hadn't have been just a novice pro when jones and toney were running things at 168 then he would've fit right into that class IMO. Hopkins i don't think bernard could've beaten joe at any point in his career. Nard was a big middleweight, but wasn't strong or fast enough to outdo joe at 168. The joe that beat a prime omar sheika like it was nothing would've lost a UD against RJJ, won or lost a narrow points win over 1993 168 lb toney, and would've won a close decision over bernard. Toney /hopkins at 160-168 would've truly been a pick-em fight, and a real joy to watch. 1. Jones 2. calzaghe 3. Hopkins. 4. Toney
H2H 1] RJJ 2] Calzaghe/Toney 4] Hopkins Legacy 1] RJJ 2] Hopkins/Calzaghe 4] Toney [Superb wins, but too inconsistent imo]
