I'm not handing out points for being a smaller LH tho. At his LH peak Conn was coming in at the 170+. Have a look at this for a minor eye opener, Spinks weights thru his peak were 173 3/4, 173, 173 3/4, 172, 173 3/4, 172 3/4, 173, 173 3/4, 172, 170 1/2 and 175. Only in his last fight mentioned did he even hit 174 :blood

Conn sometimes didn't hit 174 for HW contests. I'd say his best weight was 165-167. There's a modern weight-class between them i'd say.

I don't doubt Conn could fight out of 168, no problem mate. I'd actually pick Jones to beat him there tho. Probably no-one else.

Be one for the ages that, whichever way it went. I'd pick Conn :D

But that there is a fight where I wouldn't be surprised to be proved wrong.

The power Spinks gets into the short finishing hybrid uppercut/hook is simply astonishing.

I find it comical and kind of sad that Jones would be rated this hight at LH.

    1. Spinks
    2. Foster
    3. Loughran
    4. Conn
    5. Jones
    6. Tiger

Tiger Flowers was better than Dick Tiger
John Henry Lewis and Moore should be on this list. Jimmy Bivens anyone?

LH is never actually mentioned tho. I believe this is a P4P thread as he mentions 3 make ATG top 50 in the initial post.

Are you talking about ranking these guys at Light-heavyweight, seeing as they were all LH's at one time or another? This needs to be clarified.

I don't know what Tiger did to earn such lofty praise.

He beat four reigning world champions, won at least 7 fights against fellow HOFers, and is the only fighter in the past 100 years to hold unified world titles at both 160 and 175.
