BTW how can anyone with an ounce of sense put GGG above Ward? Ward's resume is much better. To suggest it isn't is pure agenda driven. Ward is clearly the greater boxer.

Took out a decent 168 at a canter really. Admittedly he was fortunate that established champs allowed him to have the red carpet rolled out for him when he hadn't done much at the start of the tournament with him not having to travel and him not having to fight awkward fellow American Dirrell but he did well.

Bute got well Bute'd. He could never have hung with Ward although styles make fights and Andre wouldn't of mowed him down like Froch did. The Golovkin fight never happened but if it had we prob wouldn't of got the Kov fights as Golovkin would of wanted fights to acclimatise to 168 before taking on someone as good as Ward like Ward did when he went to 175.

I wish he would of continued on at 175 post Kovalev 2 as there were some great fights we could of seen him in and he clearly still had plenty to give.

Andre Ward (ATG top 10 best fighter in history)
    Canelo Alvarez (current best P4P)
Wladimir Klitschko (decade of Heavyweight domination)
Shane Mosley (his two victories over DeLaHoya secures his greatness)
Carl Froch (Kessler, Bute, Pascal, Abraham, Jermain Taylor - Impressive wins)
Miguel Cotto (Judah, Mayorga, Margarito, a not so young Mosley)
Gennady Golovkin (he has a draw against Canelo, but he takes too much punishment and lacks big names in his record)
Sergio Martinez (he has an interesting victory over Pavlik)

Ain't gonna lie, I am not following ultra lightweight boxing, no idea for these two names:
    Roman Gonzalez
    Nonito Donaire

I don't see how any unbiased fan can have ward outside the top 2 of this list. His resume is better than wlads

I hear you but this still doesn't explain why anyone could rank GGG higher he didn't beat any fighters on the level of a Froch or Kovalev or even a Kessler for that matter. His career is full of more question marks than Ward is. His best win is Danny Jacobs a guy Ward would have probably shut out or beat 10-2.

Maybe you are right, GGG was most dominant, and cleaned the division for several years, i have scored the 2 canelos fight to him,Ward has a much better resume but was more intermittent.
In term of resume Ward is a lot better

I agree Ward and Wald IMO are top 2 hands down. Without a doubt Ward is greater than GGG.

He fought good fighters but a resume which is much better? Kessler, Froch, Kovalev, Dawson and Abraham? Before Canelo it is better, but not a tremendous list considering timing in some of those fights. Kovelev was good, but I never thought great. GGG to me was more dominant and fought Canelo and fought him evenly.. To me it was clear he was the dominant guy at middleweight in a way Ward never did at 168 or 175. Not the same way. A guy his level. The best he fought? Something is incomplete about his record. Ward's did a little what Ray did after the Finch fight in 1982. He got out at the right time because he didn't want the heat of tough fights. Although Ward is not where Ray was in 1982. Ray beat Benitez,Duran and Hearns. Those guys were tops.

Total question mark. We never got to find out how good or overrated he was in his pomp which is a massive shame. He's this generation's great what if.

I wonder if Froch had taken the fight at 168 how much it would of changed the landscape between 160-175.

I would say Golovkins two victories over Canelo and His win over Jacobs puts him ahead of everyone besides Ward, who has probably more top defense than Golovkin.

    Wlad
    Ward
    Triple G
    Canelo
    Froch

You cannot seriously put Ward top 10 in history of boxing. He does not have the resume. Alvarez right now has a much better resume than Ward has. Much much better.

Tough one. Some I would struggle to decide.
I could definitely change my mind with some of these and wouldn't argue some of them.

    Here goes -

    Wladimir Klitschko
    Miguel Cotto
    Shane Mosley
    Canelo Alvarez
    Roman Gonzalez
    Andre Ward
    Sergio Martinez
    Nonito Donaire
    Froch/Golovkin

    Could easily change the order

Stop! Up until GGG fought Jacobs his best win was Martin Murray a guy who never even won a title, let that sink in. He lost and drew to Canelo beat Chenko who gave him hell and arguably beat him. Hiding out at that time in a weak division beating no hopers and running up KO streak over cans like Wade Rosado and Ishida isn't impressive who did he beat of note in that streak? Guys like Kessler Froch Abraham and Dawson are much better 3 of which were top 10 P4P fighters when Ward fought and beat them. And hell Kovalev is better than anyone GGG fought or beat with exception of Canelo. I suggest you go back and re-evaluate how you rank fighters because it's badly flawed. Ward clearly has the better resume and the better career.

I like your posting pimp and find you to be a decent poster but I can never really agree when people post that Ward cleaned out 168.
He beat a faded Kessler who beat undefeated Froch, who beat undefeated Bute, but ward never fought any top undefeated prime SMWs IMO and never fought any when undefeated. It felt to me that the other top SMWs took the draining risks in any build up to Ward facing them.

I do agree that although I didn't think Ward beat Kovalev, he does deserve credit for having the victory on his record
