I was reading Ring Almanac from last year and there is an article about Floyd's retirement. the article named what the author feels are the 7 best fighters of the past 22 years. They are: Floyd Mayweather Jr. Roy Jones Jr. Bernard Hopkins Evander Holyfield Ricardo Lopez Pernell Whitaker Julio Cesar Chavez How would you rate them, and please don't flame me saying that Pacquiao should be included. The original 7 listed were in Ring Magazine, and not my picks.
You know what if that's the case, the author who came up with this so-called list is a BIASED *****. Because even though I'm a Pacquiao fan, I wouldn't have left Floyd Jr off the list... :huhatsch
1. Sweet Pea (Top 20) 2. RJJ (Top 30) 3. JCC (Top 30) 4. B-Hop (Top 35) 5. PBF (Top 35) 6. Evan Fields (Top 40) 7. Finito (Top 70) (P4P) 2 & 3 probably interchangable, same with 4 and 5.
Roy Jones Jr. Pernell Whitaker Julio Cesar Chavez Evander Holyfield Floyd Mayweather Bernard Hopkins Ricardo Lopez :good
Roy Jones Jr. Julio Cesar Chavez Pernell Whitaker Floyd Mayweather Jr. Evander Holyfield Bernard Hopkins Ricardo Lopez
Pernell Whitaker Julio Cesar Chavez Evander Holyfield Bernard Hopkins Ricardo Lopez Floyd Mayweather Jr. Roy Jones Jr.
Roy Jones Jr. Julio Cesar Chavez Evander Holyfield Floyd Mayweather Jr. Pernell Whitaker Bernard Hopkins Ricardo Lopez
Impressive, I completely agree with the order and that JCC and Roy is a toss-up! :good My only objection is that PBF and Hopkins shouldn't be this high. They'd fit in in the 50 range along with Holy. Also Hopkins, while great and overlooked for long times, should be below Floyd. His competition's been better and he hasn't lost (officially).
