Absolutely, it upsets me to think that a man such as Ken is suffering the type of financial woes that he is...I hope he stays clear of the bottle.

 

Woods was very much a Super Middleweight, who made a surprise move up to 175 as a sub for Henry Wharton as he upset Crawford Ashley to win the British, Commonwealth and Euro crowns, a year after suffering his first pro defeat in a challenge for the Commonwealth 168lbs crown (against David Starie).

Herol Graham fought guys like Julian Jackson and had close fights with Mike McCallum and Kalambay. It's a lot harder to win titles against them then the guys Harrison fought, with all due respect, I don't think that should really go against him when Harrison fought nobody above B level.

Graham's close fights with fighters of that ability show how good he was. Harrison wouldn't have done anything with the elite, he was average in most areas, just a big strong guy that was tough.

 

I know what you are saying but Harrison never fought at true world class level. He got a gift decision against Polo and lost easily to Mediina (although I think he was unfit for that fight) Polo and Medina were his biggest names on his resume and they don't come close to some of Grahams. And tbh I only just have Harrison above Ried.

Neither of them beat any world class fighters but at least Graham took several on, whereas Harrison pissed it all up against the wall before he got the chance to take anyone decent on. Also on styles Graham was a very clever boxer with great defence and lightning reflexes, Harrison was a plodder IMHO :good

Herol Graham is the stand out fighter in the list. I'd place Kirkland Laing high on potential, and that win over Duran is probably better than any win on any of the other's resumes, however he never really built on it. The win over Kalule is probably better than any of Scott Harrison's, and Graham was extremely unlucky not to win a title, losing to the very under-rated Sumbu Makalambay twice, SD to the great Mike McCallum, caught out of the blue by the huge punching Julian Jackson etc.
