I don't think Whitaker was most fair considering the scorecards (like 9 rounds to 3 for Oscar, no way it was that wide). I had in even.

Sturm was the worst IMO and Quartey most fair

    Whitaker

Sturm definitely won at least 7 rounds, Oscar did good bodywork early on but fatigued and kept getting hammered with jabs and short punches. Oscar was flabby in the gut and took probably sturm lightly. He concedes nowadays that he got lucky.

Unlike some of the other fights here, the Quartey fight was easy to score, and Ike should have won. So much of the fight, especially rounds 7 thru 11, was them posing and staring. So when Quartey would land a few jabs and a couple rights, it was easy to give the round to him. The first 5 rounds were probably 3-2 Ike, you have to be generous to oscar to have him winning 3 of the first 5. I can’t find my RBR card, I’m going off memory. From rounds 6 thru 11, the most you can give Oscar is 1 round. Round 6 was 10-9 Ike because Ike clearly controlled the round after the 2 KDs. The only rounds from 7 thru 11 you can give Oscar was maybe the 10th (when Ike lost his balance from a jab and nearly touched down). The rest of those rounds was a posefest, with Ike clearly getting the better of it since Oscar was doing nothing. You’re pretty generous to give Oscar 3 of the first 5, then you can give him the 10th round, and the 12th. That’s 7-5 Quartey, or 114-113 Quartey. I suppose you can score the 6th 10-10 and have it 114-114, but it was obvious Ike had the better of the round after the 2 KDs.

The Trinidad fight was similar to the Quartey one in that same sense, you have to be generous to Tito to score it for him. I had it 115-114 Oscar, round 1 even, rounds 2-3 Oscar, round 4 Tito, rounds 5-7 Oscar, round 8 Tito, round 9 Oscar, rounds 10-12 Tito. Almost all the rounds Tito won were close. The first round was a feel em out round with little happening, that could go either way. The first round I gave Tito was the 4th, and that was close. Tito landed a nice counter left hook after taking a left hook to the body. Oscar was still doing good work with the jab and it was a close round. Oscar was using better footwork to frustrate Tito, landing jabs and some straight rights too. Round 8 was a close round, Tito closed strong with a left hook and I gave him the round, but it was close. Round 9 is when Oscar started backing up more, but he also started off the round strong with combos to the body, and finishing with a nice straight right. He clearly did the better work than Tito IMO. Oscar backed up quite a bit in round 10, but it was still a close round as neither guy landed much of note. And Oscar more or less gave away the final two rounds by staying away.

I definitely thought Oscar won the Mosley rematch when I first saw it, but I rewatched it sober and saw that a lot of the rounds were close. There was a reason Top Rank did a poll of ringside media and their scorecards, and less than 30% scored for Oscar. Maybe they hated arum and Oscar , but there were a lot of close rounds, despite what compubox says.

I never had a problem with De La Hoya getting the nod over Whitaker. It was very close, I had it even, but judges had it 9-3 for Oscar. It was very close with difficult to score rounds.

    Trinidad
    Mosley II
Sturm (I can't really remember this fight but I think Oscar had a case for shoeshining a one or two point win even if he deserved worse)

No issue with the Quartey and Whitaker decisions. I think Quartey was the closer of the two.

    Sturm
    Whitaker
    Mosley 2
    Trinidad
    Quartey

I had no issue with the decisions in the Trinidad fight or the Quartey fight. I don`t think Oscar took Pernell Whitaker`s title that night. DelaHoya looked lost in the ring that night.

I thought that the Quartey fight had a couple rounds that could have gone either way. I scored it a draw but I doubt I would come up with the same scorecard if I watched it again.

I'll raise you one. Canelo draw with Golovkin, with De La Hoya's hand picked judges.

Strum beat Oscar for sure. Clearly Robbery.

I haven't seen the Sturm fight but none of the other three are robberies and quite frankly he beat Whitaker decisively. I watched it for the first time a few months ago and was nothing short of shocked. It rivals Norton-Holmes as one of the most egregiously misrepresented fights I've ever seen.
