Muhammad Ali (Wins over Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Ken Norton, Sonny Liston etc)

George Foreman (Wins over Joe Frazier, Ken Norton, Michael Moorer etc)

Lennox Lewis (Wins over Mike Tyson, Vitali Klitschko, Evander Holyfield etc)

Who ranks where out of the three?

    Ali, Foreman, Lewis

Foreman making comeback and winning heavyweight championship at the age of 45 makes his resume better than Lewis's.

Blasting out Frazier and Norton in double quick time certainly helps his case, too.

Muhammad Ali comes first, easily. His resume takes it on quality and quantity. For second place,Foreman takes it on quality, while Lewis does on quantity. I'm basing this on George's first career. Second time around,he chose his opponents carefully, which you can't really blame him for.

Its Ali, Lewis, Foreman and it isn't particularly close, unless you give Foreman resume props for losing to Ali, Holyfield, Young. Foreman's wins against top10 ranked opponents is very very low for a HW champ

    Ali Lewis Foreman

Lewis gets second place due to consistency and being the very best of his era leaving no doubts

Foreman should be given a bit of a pat on the back IMO - for instance in the course of 6 fights from 22nd January 1973 to 15th June 1976 he fought Joe Frazier...Ken Norton...MUHAMMAD ALI (even going along with letting Ali have 'home' ground)...Ron Lyle...and Joe Frazier again - that's pretty good going he certainly didn't do much dodging in my book - a lot of other fighters could certainly take a leaf out of his book

even at 42years of age and over
between 19th April 1991 and 5th November 1994 he went in with prime Evander Holyfield...Tommy Morrison....Michael Moorer....and might have squared off with Tyson had he not gone inside

I think there is maybe a bit more to it than that, but I agree this plays a big factor and I agree with your list.

I'd also add that Foreman's two victories over Frazier far exceed Lewis' two victories over Holyfield.

    Ali is obviously #1

Foreman and Lewis are hard to compare because their resumes have verry diferent strengths and weakneses.

It is, but on the other hand he might just have the two best wins in heavyweight history on his record, two decades apart.
