And Jeffries had a 43" 1/2 chest and 48" expanded chest!

He had legs of steel with a 26" thigh, and 17" 1/2 calf.

Easily one of the strongest boxers of all time.

You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink. In your case I’ve salted the hay in the form of video, testimonials and links...

    Still not enough?

Then you say who his own size, which DQ's the entire field we are talking about. Geez.

I have no doubts that James J. Jeffries was a very strong man. He was athletic his entire life, did manual labor, appears very well built in his younger photos and has numerous testimonies of others who witnessed his strength. I am hesitant however to believe some of the tales about him lifting dead animal carcass's that weighed in excess of 500 lbs or hale bales that were of like weight.. Had Jeff been a 300 lb power lifter with world class credentials I might be more inclined to believe it. But a 215 lb farmer-boxer? Not likely. It wasn't uncommon for reporters and local gossips to tell stories or exaggerate in those days. This still isn't a knock on Jeff's strength. He was incredibly strong and men like Jack Johnson, Bob Fitz, Jim corbett and even John L Sullivan who apparently knew him briefly have said so.

LOL in your face.:lol::lol: You cannot be that stupid.:huh You listed some measurements because you felt they were relevant to the thread. And when I listed the same, now it doesn't count?

Yes usually the ones with big chests are stronger. But it the expanded measurement that shows the extra muscle, not the bone structure. 48" expanded chest with no fat is huge.

I said 26", and the link said 26" for Jeffries. Why you read 25" is a real wonder.

More double standards for you! Keep up the stupidity.

If you don't think Jeffries was strong, your going against anyone who saw him or wrote about him, in many cases before you were born.

If you watch the films ( Which is an issue for you ) you will see when the lock up Jeffries pushed Johnson backward more often than not until he became tired. The arm bending thing can be seen on film. It last but 2 seconds, then Jeffries pushed him off.:deal
