Louis was green when he lost to schmeling and avenged the loss. Still a great win obv the all are.

Ali over Liston great upset but also rumors of a fix and Liston's lackluster performance.

Foreman over moorer great achievement but moorer was a light heavy who may only have won the title to begin with bc of evanders heart problems.

The rest are all pretty phenomenal could see them all be shuffled around but I picked Louis over schmeling bc of the worldwide implications and bc he avenged a loss in devastating fashion.

louis green? He put on by far his best display on film vs Baer prior to the fight along with career best performances vs uzcuden levinsky and Carnera. Right after the schmeling fight he put on another career best film performance vs Ettore and Sharkey


Louis never looked better on film than he did around the time schmeling beat him

 

Schmeling over Louis is arguable the greatest upset in history. Louis not only beat, he destroyed 3 men in under 5 rounds whom had defeated schmeling, it was a complete mismatch on paper. The greatest game plan of all time by schmeling

 

Really? I think he was looking pretty good when he demolished Schmeling in the rematch. Maybe green is overstating it, but he was 2 years into his pro career, never held the title, with half as many fights under his belt as schmeling.

 

yes agreed but Louis himself said baer fight was his peak fight snd I’ve never seen him look better on film

 

Fair enough though Baer was like made for Louis so of course he looked good sending that big guy crashing down
