I see that you put Ivan Calderon above Miguel Cotto. I'm just curious why? Isn't Miguel Cotto the flagship of Puero Rican boxing today?

Also you put Luis Collazo above John Ruiz. I thought may be Ruiz's accomplishment as the first Puerto Rican and Latino to win a heavyweight championship would give him a higher position on the list.

p4p Calderon is a better fighter than Cotto, flagship or not. Calderon is the ring Magazine champ at 108, and was the top strawweight for many years whereas Cotto has never been the man at any weight he has fought at thus far. At 140 Kostya Tszyu was the real champion when he had the WBOgus trinket and at 147 he has the WBA belt and Mayweather is the man and champ there. Calderon beat better competition so far. Ruiz is a joke. He fought in the worst heavyweight era in decades and was nothing more than a contender with a trinket...whereas Collazao has held his own with p4p fighters like Mosley and Hatton, and has won the WBA title at that weight.

You also put Ivan Calderon above Miguel Cotto. Why? I'm just curious.

Who has Cintron beat????? Quintana has bounced back from a beating at the hands of Cotto and beat Paul Williams, the so-called most feared at 147. Cintron has only faced one true top 10 guy....Margarito and failed miserably. He is a good fighter but IMO Quintana has beat better fighters and is better all-around. Punchers are so overrated.

I'm not sure I understand this one. Cotto's wins easily surpass Calderon's wins. It's not Calderon's fault that there hasn't been great competition at 105, but as it stands, he hasn't beaten the quality of fighters that Cotto had.

The greatest Puerto Rican fighter of all time is always left out of General Forum debates. Anyways, of the ones you selected, in order.

    Wilfredo Gomez
    Wilfred Benitez
    Felix Trinidad
    Hector Camacho
    Wilfredo Vazquez
    Miguel Cotto
    Ivan Calderon
    John Ruiz
    Carlos Quintana
    Kermit Cintron
    Luis Collazo
    Angel Manfredy

You could make the argument for Tito being #1, and Cotto is sure to move up in time. He could concievably rate above Vazquez as it stands.
