If Pac beat all those guys you mentioned, I would rank him #1 ATG without thinking twice. Really. He would be beating one of the most skilled fighter of all time, he would settle the score with his archnemesis (Marquez) and thereby establish absolute dominance during his reign, He would get another several more belts at 2 more divisions.
Oki fair enough, I think he was overrated but is currently being underrated because f the ko's, history will put hime were he deserves though.
Manny Pacquiao... Top 30 Floyd Mayweather... Top 60 Roy Jones... Top 40 Lennox Lewis... Top 90 Bernard Hopkins... Top 40 Oscar de la Hoya... Top 60
Cheers bro. I didn't give it much thought, but I think that's around where I'd rank them. I'm of the opinion that Manny Pacquiao is clearly, and I do mean clearly, ahead of Floyd Mayweather in terms of P4P ranking.
Pacquiao top 20. His weight jumps make him way up there and his performance, but that is only a to date performance. He'd struggle if he crossed Ray Leonard or Robinson to me. Major fan of him though so I push him maybe top 15.....Mayweather top 50 as yeah his record is great but he never really dominated his divisision like for example Marciano did, sorecord doesent mean that much.....Lewis top 50, he beat some greats but I think he always had stylistically easier fights than alot.....Hopkins and Jones top 60. I never really liked either massivley. Both tarnished their records from recient boring losses when the retiment should have been fully commited to like Calzaghe has done.
Light Heavyweight was a barren wasteland when he operated at 175lbs, and the best fighter he faced at this weight beat him 2-1 in the trilogy. Likewise, some perceive his victory over Hopkins as being a monumental achievement. A very good win by all accounts, but Hopkins was a fighter who got better with age, and he was clearly rusty when he and Jones first fought. The argument is that Jones was also green, but he was natural athlete, who had come out of the Olympics an already great fighter. He was great from the get-go, whereas I argue that Hopkins wasn't. Amazing performances, great victories over Toney and Ruiz, but I can quite honestly say the man is overrated after having made a thread about Jones status, with the overwhelming majority considering him top 10-20 material. I strongly disagree.
Manny Pacquiao... Top 25 Floyd Mayweather... Top 15* Roy Jones... Top 15* Lennox Lewis... Top 50 Bernard Hopkins.. Top 25 Oscar de la Hoya... Top 50. *= Sometimes on my always changing top 10 list (5-10).
