Ruslan Chagaev 23-0-1 Sultan Ibragimov 22-0-1 Joe Mesi 36-0 Eddie Chambers 29-0 Chris Areola 22-0 Donnel Holmes 28-0-2 Faruq Saleem 37-0 Aleksandr Povetkin 13-0 Odlanier Solis 5-0 Aleksandr Dimitrenko 26-0 Shane Cameron 19-0 Roman Greenberg 26-0 Kevin Johnson 16-0-1 Malik Scott 29-0 Chazz Witherspoon 20-0 Alonzo Butler 26-0-1 Denis Boytsov 18-0 Carl Drummond 22-0 JD Chapman 27-0 David Rodrigues 26-0 How do you estimate their skill level, power, chins and their chances to become HW champions or at least top-contenders (except Chagaev and Ibragimov who are current belt-holders)? Who is a joke and will suffer first lost in the near future?
I only got one thing.. Kevin Johnson, what is up with this dude, isnt he like 30 or something!?! I saw him and thought he looked pretty good, but he needs to get the ball rolling.
faruq saleem is a joke. He is the Heavyweight with the largest amount of bums on his record. He's fought guys with records like 14-94 and 9-75. He is going to lose when he steps up for sure.
Aleksandr Povetkin 13-0 Odlanier Solis 5-0 The best two on the list for the future as long as solis keeps in shape and doesn't come in fat like he has in some fights. Ruslan Chagaev 23-0-1 is the best of the bunch at the moment.
Head to Head (Right Now) 1. Chagaev 2. Ibragimov 3. Povetkin 4. Dimitrenko 5. Chambers 6. Arreola Potential 1. Povetkin 2. Solis 3. Chagaev 4. Ibragimov 5. Boytsov 6. Dimitrenko 7. Chambers 8. Arreola 9. Johnson
A lot of those "0's" really should go. I've seen Roman Greenberg on Eurosport a few times and I must say he is truly awful. Too many prospects get into the routine of fighting journeymen without getting any better. Joe Mesi may have 36 wins, but he is the one most likely to end up in a wheelchair, or worse.
Ruslan Chagaev 23-0-1 he is top ten but in my opinion he lost vs Valuev and Ruiz. With Chagaev as the beltholder there will be no unification with the WBA belt involved trust me. Sultan Ibragimov i'm impressed the way he knocked out guys like Mora or whitaker was great. easy wins vs Holyfield an briggs. He is fast he has the style and the punch.. he has all to beat Wladimir Mesi: i only saw him once but i don't think he has big future as top 10 boxer Chambers : i never saw him fighting Povetkin : he needs to face a heavy puncher before he fights Wladimir is think he will win he tournament .... but vs Klitschko ? but he will become champ one day Odlanier Solis : he has only 5 fights and face better opponents as many other guys a this time but its to early to say something about his future Aleksandr Dimitrenko : good technical boxer and still young but like Povetkin he has never faced a heavy puncher he needs a real test against guys like McCall Tua, Rahman or Brewster Roman Greenberg : i saw many of his fights a he looks good against bum's i think the first top opponent he will face knock's him out. Malik Scott 29-0 : same thing like Greenberg Denis Boytsov 18-0 : I like his fights but he is still very young he needs more time before he should face top 20 fighters maybe he is to small to be successful at heavyweight he is a little bit like a young version of Ibragimov
Chag- He can box, he can punch a litte. He's a southpaw, he's got an iron chin. Outstanding amatuer background. Going to be around a long time. Sultan- southpaw boxer puncher with fast hands. Came in a little fat against Austin,a nd doesn't ahve the best chin, but can still beat most guys out there. talks like he doesn't want to be around much longer, though. Mesi- Really should retire. He can still win some fights, but the divison passed him by. Chambers- never seen him fight, but the words is he's like a poor man's Chris Byrd. Arreola- You have to like that power. Can it carry against better competion in light of his skills? To some extent probably. Holmes- Never seen him fight, but heard he was a joke. Saleem- Joke Povetkin- Sky's the limit. Last I heard, he was working on strength training. Throws a lot of good ounches in bunches. If he has a chin, he's got ATG potential. Solis- Fat ****. He's got allt he skills, but at the end of the day, he is going to be just another fat ****, and the divison doesn't need another. Dimintrenko- I think he is the sleeper. HE has had come crappy fights, but he's only 26 with a wealth of experience. At 6'7", with a fine jab and gowing inot his power, he'll put it all together. Cameron- Honestly never heard of him Greenberg- Nothing special Johnson- lacks power and starting out over the hill. Good skills, but his future is limited. Scott- I remember being mildly excited about this guy years ago. If he was going anywhere, he would have gone. His competeion has not risen to Dimentrenko level. Write him off. Also, a complete lack of power. Witherspoon- Living off his family name. Nothing going for him. Butler- Don't know Boytsov- powerful, but small, and has allreasy been sidelined a couple of times. Lets hope he gets it together, but the last thing we need is another VitKlit. Drummond- Don't know Chapman- At least he is takking it slow and finding good trainers. His future is limited. Rodrigues- Don't know.
Chagaev is the best of these guys, going from Ruiz to Valuev in consecutive fights is not easy. Even if those wins were very close, he still pulled them out. As far as the Americans go, I believe that "Fast" Eddie Chambers is the best overall right now. He already has like nearly 30 fights and he is only 25 years old. He has got good skills, and so far a good chin wiht good ring generalship. I don't think he is ready for Klitschko, and don't know if this tournament thing is the best thing for him.
