I think people tend to rank someone higher then they should at a weight because of their work at other weights. It can be a common mistake with someone like Chavez. I agree...for straight out lightweight rankings Ortiz over Chavez clearly. A lot of people have Ortiz over Chavez all time too...wait.. you do dont you?
Well dont listen to them mate. There are plenty of people to learn off on here and nuthuggers arent those people.
Based on nothing really, I was just going by the top of my head. I suppose most of Chavez's best work (accomplishment wise) was at 140. :good
I do, considering you'd add wins over Locche (or what would've been a win outside of Argentina) and Loi when taking into account work at 140, two fighters better than anyone Chavez beat at the weight.
One guy who i commonly see mentioned as a great lightweight is Packey McFarland. I know very little about Packey except that he never won a world title, ahd doog skills and he passed away young because of strepococcus. Anyone have any info on Ol' Packey? Why he never won a World Title?
sweet_scientist would be the best poster to ask about him, as he's one of his favorites. Outstanding record of 102 wins with only 1 loss and 8 draws.
