Anyone who puts Winky above Oscar doesn't understand the weight resume is typically given when discussing all time great status.

    DLH
    Trinidad
    Mosley
    Winky

Honestly, for me the only ones who could be switched up are Trinidad and Mosley. Mainly because even though Trinidad was more dominant in his prime, he doesn't have the longetivity Mosley has. Shane lost pretty big in his prime, but has shown his quality even during the late part of his career, enhancing his reputation.

Winky although deadly in a h2h sense, is the naturally bigger guy who simply didn't accomplish enough. These smaller men were greater than Winky in a p4p sense, and deserve to be ranked higher.

And this is stated where ??!! :huh

Everybody has different interpretations of what great means , in this instance , bearing in mind defining fights , resume's etc etc , i still rank Winky #1 , because of how good he was at his very best , De La Hoya , Mosley and Tito's best wins came against fighters Winky would have very few problems with , and against each other (not including DLH and Mosley below 140) .

Add to that , De La Hoya pitted against Winkly gets schooled in there primes , i just think Winky gets hammered on here and very few actually take the time to evaluate just how good he was , the Winky of 03 04 would have a solid claim to be sitting as the P4P #1 right now today providing he could land the right fights .

The same cannot be said for Oscar , Mosley and Trinidad

    I'll go one step further...

Anyone who puts Winky above Oscar hasn't watched a great deal of Boxing.

    1. Oscar: Legit champion at 130, 135, 140, 147 and 154. No one has faced more big names and top fighters in the last 20 years. He lost some, won some. Could be said he won some fights he should have lost, but also lost fights he should have won (Tito, Shane 2). His extraordinary career can´t be judged using single fights, like "he got a gift against Whitaker, or Quartey".

Tito: Most dominant WW champion since Leonard. This guy destroyed careers and pulverized chins beyond repair (David Reid, Fernando Vargas, Mayorga, Yori Boy Campas, the list goes on and on). Is easy to call him "overrated" for losing to the best middleweight since Hagler, and a defensive master in Winky Wright, coming back after retirement. Tito´s run in 2000-2001 after beating Oscar, destroying Reid, Vargas and Joppy, was impressive.

Shane: At 135, I would only take Duran and Whitaker over him, maybe Chavez. Was A MONSTER at lightweight. The first man to beat Oscar (at 147), and the only one to beat him twice (bad decision). His destruction of Margarito is one of the most jawdropping moments in boxing in the last decade.

Winky: The best 154 fighter from last decade. Was good at 160. Dominated a shot Tito Trinidad and an undesized Shane Mosley. This guy was very good, but didn´t bring the bucks, thats why he had trouble finding big fights. This man was only dominant in one weight division, and is naturally bigger than all the rest of the guys in this list, so he had a clear size advantage when facing 2 of them. I can´t agree with anyone who puts Winky at 1, 2 or 3.

I think they all could if they landed the right fights.. because all were talented enough IMO..

What you said was perfect and dead on.. although I give Winky a little more credit than that.. he DREW with Jermain Taylor, when he could have gotten the decision, not because of his size (he was smaller anyways) but because of his boxing skills... he is a SOUND TECHNICIAN.. doesn't make too many mistakes, doesn't get carried away.. uses fundamentals, has a great jab, great reflexes, decent power, outstanding defense, great ring generalship.. there was more to Winky than just size over these guys.. but ATG status.. he doesn't compare.. he probably won't be remembered by too many fans after ten years.. sad but true

I dont wanna call Winky 1 though h2h he embarrassed Mosley and Trinidad

Oscar is probably my choice for 1 but he was beaten twice by Shane and once by Tito

This is a hard cluster**** to sort

    By preference

    Oscar
    Wright
    Mosley
    Tito

Winky´s style is the last thing to consider about his ATG status. I´t all about the accomplishments. Winky doesn´t compare to Oscar and Tito in terms of accomplishments. Shane perhaps.

Theres a reason a guy like Whitaker is so high at most people´s ATG lists, even if he had little power and was defensively oriented. It´s his resume.

Winky´s resume just can´t compare to the other guys.

IMO opinion he had a great resume Hopkins, Vargas, Tito, Williams, Taylor and Mosley 2x. He also was willing to go into the other guy's back yard to fight. The guy H2H beats them all and along with his skill level I place him ahead of the rest.

Tito didn't have longevity? He was champ from '93 to '01, and correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't he hold the record for most ww title defences, 15 I believe?? Thats impressive considering the many great champs that have fought at 147..
