    Liston is a hard guy to rate. On raw ability and physical gifts, few were better. Liston had very good skills, great power, good stamina, a good chin, and an usually long reach. Here he is top 5 all time.

    However, his resume of wins isn’t over whelming, and he had character issues that cost him in the ring. He also tended to cut easily. I have him in the #8 to #10 spot. I think he could clean up on most champions pre 1960, and beat quite a few champions post 1960.

    I know some old timers who rate him number 1 of all time!!! I guess its a bit like people in their 30s who reckon Tyson was the best ever.

    Liston rates very highly. Easily top 10. Defeated high quality PRIME opposition, the best of his era in dominating fashion.
