He stopped Sharkey and Ruhlin within two weeks of each other!

Incorrect as Joe was on the floor twice in the final round-and also twice in the preceding round- and only the police stopping it saved him. However he had Fitz down heavily in the third.

Would you consider Carl Morris and Arthur Pelkey on the same level as Gunboat?

Well spotted. Any suggestion on where to rank them?

Do you think Battling Jim Johnson deserves inclusion?

I'd have them down a notch, the forgotten Jim Coffey I would rate above them too.

    I look forward to it.

I'll stick them in, but they're not ones I'm massively familar with, (Honestly I'm not sure I've even heard of Coffery) so a good chance I'll revise their placing.

Maybe. His record is spotty, but he does get the better of Sam McVey on the few rounds that are filmed.

If Jack Johnson vs Battling Jim Johnson, which I think was filmed ever surfaces, we'll know the answer to that question.

A lot of his losses were against good opposition too, and rarely stopped, and a couple very good wins over Wills and Clark.
