I was just checking how Mzonke Fana was an acceptable voluntary defence for WBO champion Terry Flanagan.

My first thoughts were "FFS he's 42!!".

My understanding is that you've got to fight someone in the top 15 for a voluntary and fair enough, there Fana is at No.12 WBO.

I then had a quick scour across the four bodies at LW.
At first I thought they were entirely different sets of 15 with no common fighters.

Then I spotted Robert Easter JR in the WBC, WBA and IBF ratings but not the WBO.
I've spotted one or two others that appear in two or three of the rankings.

The WBO 15 seems to be the most unique with only Michael Perez also appearing in the WBA.

I know that money talks but is there anyone who's actual ranked in all four sanctioning bodies?

15 entirely different names from one body to another is just plain depressing. :-(

Fish eyes is in with the WBO. Every world title and European title is WBO for his fighters, gets promoter of the year every year. Wouldn't surprise me if he helped pick the rankings

I am sure you're spot on - I wonder where Fana was in last month's rankings.

Fana has been ranked 12th in the WBO rankings for March 2016, April 2016, and May 2016. This despite beating nobody of note.

Believe it or not, Jack Catterall is ranked 4th at 140. :patsch

Tommy Langfords number 2 at middleweight...this is the issue with these silly, international, silver, inter-continental belts

Ah ha I see, so he's the WBO African champ.

The only name I recognise on his CV is a TKO loss to the quite handy Paulus Moses in 2013.

That's about the size of it. :thumbsup I think Fana also beat Takalani Ndlovu back in 2013.

It's a gimme defence for Flanagan, and will only reflect badly on him if he fails to stop Fana or beat Fana by wide UD.
