Wow look at a hungry Jake Lamotta go to work on a still healthy Marcel Cerdan in rounds 1-2. Gives him a horrible body beating, he looks like rocky marciano in there the way he attacks body head arms shoulders. breaks cerdan down. Cerdan in this footage can be seen throwing his healthy hand all the way through round 2 but lamotta just takes him apart.

If you watch closely, they show the footage of lamotta's left hook flooring cerdan right at the end of round 1. this was an official knockdown. right around :53 mark

I think Jake should be given full credit for this win over a great middleweight. Cerdan did get injured, but it was mainly due to lamottas strength. Lamotta was dominating him until the injury. Watch the footage, you'll agree

Nice one, Lamotta deserves more credit for this then he gets. He clearly looked too strong for Cerdan even before the knockdown

Injury related TKO's rarely get a fighter any credit, regardless of the time period.

Thanks for posting. I've always wanted to see more of this fight. I really like that short inside jab of LaMotta's, it sets him apart a bit technically, from guys like Fullmer, Tiger, and even Walker.
Good to see LaMotta getting some props for his skillset...He was incredibly tough, no doubt, but he was a well schooled fighter...and that very often gets overlooked.

Jake does look incredibly focused and strong here ,but you can see that after a couple of rounds Cerdan is only throwing his right hand ,you cant beat Lamotta with one arm.

Nobody else can see that it is a throw rather than a punch?

Yep it was a push/throw, no punch, no kd. I wonder how many KDs Suzie would score in Hamed's fights

Lamotta looked awfully good in that first round, and probably was winning that fight anyway, regardless of the injury Cerdan suffered. But that was a pretty clear throw-down, rather than a legit kd.
