The first part of the video is of Ray Robinson's third fight with the mauling & spoiling Sammy Angott I believe, the second part (starting at 6:50) is young Archie Moore fighting Fred Henneberry and Ron Richards in 1940:

Archie looks very, very quick here and it's odd to actually see him young.

This is an action-packed bout between Midget Wolgast and Juan Zurita. I'm not certain which of their fights this is:

Lastly a 26 year old Joe Brown prior to his title run showcasing good punching power with either hand against Dan Bowman:

Credit goes to jmc617 and mhagler91490/West91491 for uploading this great footage. I thought I'd post these videos here because they are not getting the views that they should.

I will look at these in more depth later, got to get the dogs out.
People like Manassa[good posters ]tend to disparage Brown and laud Carter, for my money Brown was a fine champ.

That's ****ing Midget Wolgast!!!!!!!!!!! Look at him!! Look at the little pirouet he does at the end of round 2!! How clean is that footage? I'm surprised by that i always felt it would be a bit messy. Gonna look again.

He looks more orthodox than I would have thought...very well balanced fighter, but he didn't make Zurita miss as much as I would have expected in the second half of the fight...

I'd suggest he lost this one based upon the highlights, so how about the 1936 confrontation?

Yeah it is!! Seems wrong  I felt like footage of Moore's Australian jaunt would pop up but it is lovely to actually see it.

Thank you for drawing attention to this excellent footage.

I checked the 1st fight (Robinson-Angott), decent footage, I bet there is more of his younger fights SOMEWHERE on this planet hidden away, must be.

Ps. Sammy was catching a lot of clean punches (mainly jabs) a fair bit while being pressed, shows Ray is a fine & effective pressure fighter as well.

There is. There's actually a decent bit of him at WW, it's just exceedingly rare. I've seen the Angott footage and some highlights of a few other WW fights of his before.

As prominent as he was at the time, I'd imagine there's a great deal more than mere snippets. (How is it possible that two hugely popular and exciting stars like Gavilan and Robby were not filmed together with the same quality of footage SRR/Fusari was recorded with?)
I get the impression from the Angott and Fusari clips that he was much more of an aggressive stalker while boxing within the welterweight ranks than he was when stepping up against bigger opposition. John Garfield might be able to shed some additional light on this, but what scarce early film there is of Ray suggests an intriguing and revealing difference in his style within his peak weight.
