S89, I've been lookin' at the film-noir street scene in your avatar and wonderin' where it is and what the significance is?
I found it a few months ago and couldn't tell you what it's from but it looks to me like New York City in the 40s. I just find it striking, particularly because I was born in raised in Boston and have always loved that film genre. Speaking of... I just found a rare (later) film noir from 1961 called "Blast of Silence". It's about a hitman who has second thoughts while on the job and really covers the day-to-day stuff that has to be done in order to whack someone -in this case a mid-level LCN guy. It can get a little hokey at times, but that makes it charming in my book. I think you'd love it -it's NYC as it used to be.
I'm stunned that you saw "Blast," S89, of all pictures. Three of my good friends (two dead now) worked on that picture. Merrill (or Steve as I knew him)Brody was the producer/DP, Erich Kollmar was the camera operator, and Peter Klune was an actor in it. I went on to make several low-budget, 16mm, black 'n' white monster-eats-the-creature features with Kollmar in Central America and Puerto Rico.
Why are boxers such bad swimmers? You would think they would be good swimmers. Joe Frazier in that Athletes decatholon video came in dead last in swimming, shavers in his book talked about how he entered a swimming contest in a similiar type TV even and he finished dead last in swimming having to doggy paddle so he wouldnt drown
