I think the betting here is whether Rashad would land a single punch. Machida has been hit maybe 5 times in his last 4 fights but he fought agaisnt busy fighters. I love Rashad but he is a bit passive and waits for a counter opportunity. Against a Chuck and Rampage who are pretty much stand in you face guys, this is a great tactic but with Lyoto, I just cant see Evans connecting, let alone win a round.

Lyoto never fought someone with blazing handspeed.

Blazing handspeed but he throws 10 punches a round. Soku, had great handspeed and kicks as well. And note that Soku comes at you like a devil early.

but note that Soku always gass.

It could be a problem for Lyoto really, he was gassed in the 3rd round vs TIto..
Now its 5 round, and Rashad will be strong for 5 rounds.

I think the only way Machida's opponents are ever gonna hit him cleanly and solidly, however quick their handspeed is is via a well timed counter.

I noticed that Machida's way of keeping distance to his opponents is, if for example, they are both stationary and they stay in place, the other guy's punches would not reach Lyoto, and his opponents kicks would barely graze Machida. So it's gonna be doubly harder to hit him when he's moving around.

So the only way for you to connect is to come forward and attack, or to overreach your strikes. Both of which will make you susceptible for quick Machida counters and potshots.

Bula go to sleep, anyway you are right about Lyotos distance, hes so damn far away. And also I love Rashad but this guy sometimes is so timid. I hardly see this guy take anyone down and hes a world class wrestler

I kinda agree, I think Rashad will be looking to use his wrestling skills in this match. It could turn out to be stinker but I'm looking forward to it.

I think this fight goes into the Championship rounds and then it get's very interesting.

On the other hand it could be boring as **** throughout really could'nt it?

I'll go with Machida on point's but Rashad has the power to turn it around at any time.

I'm really not sure who takes it tbh.

He was never a world class wrestler. He certainly had a very solid college career though. And was one of the very few to beat a three time NCAA champion in Jones from WVU, but he was never good enough to make the national freestyle team.

We've never seen machida in a marathon so it's tough. If he runs hard in training he can do it for sure. It all comes down to if machida can keep going for 5rounds of running.
