:good:good He was nowhere near a world class wrestler. Its just one of those annoying phrases (I blame Joe Rogan); world class wrestler, 'greco-roman is better for MMA', the size of Brock Lesnar's hands/****, 'these guys are always evolving, GSP is an athletic freak, and worst of all, 'well rounded' :fire Gods sake!
Machida should take this. He should be too seasoned for Rashad - but anything is possible. I don't really want to see this fight. I was getting hyped up for Rampage/Evans. UFC is going to have a hard time selling this one. Hope it's on a stacked card.
Here's the rumored card. MAIN CARD Champ Rashad Evans vs. Lyoto Machida (for light-heavyweight title) Matt Hughes vs. Matt Serra Dan Miller vs. Yushin Okami Frank Edgar vs. Sean Sherk Josh Koscheck vs. Chris Wilson PRELIMINARY CARD James Irvin vs. Drew McFedries Kyle Bradley vs. Phillipe Nover Pat Barry vs. Tim Hague Houston Alexander vs. Andre Gusmao Brandon Wolff vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida David Kaplan vs. George Roop
some big names on the card. some big hitters on the prelim's. all 5 of the main fights have a big name fighter.
One thing about his wrestling career was that his takedowns were always at a higher level than his overall skill, he set some sort of MSU or Big10 record with takedowns if I remember correctly.
Edgar vs Sherk should be great. Tough fight for Koscheck coming off a loss; Wilson looked very good against Fitch.
Good point there. Rashad got 3rd and 4th at the Big Tens which is no small accomplishment. He would have done better in an only takedowns score format. Assuming that he took down more than he was taken down.
You predicted an easy KO for Evans! As you said, we'll see. If Lyoto does lose this (which I don't expect him to), then we can start discussing him actually being overrated by MMA fans & media.
